Lol. Could easily see him at München, Arsenal as Barcelona before Liverpool next year.

He is a lifelong Borussia Dortmund fan, so he will very likely avoid Bayern Munich ... Barcelona are not really an option for him, with Messi, Suarez and Neymar already there ... If it comes between LFC and Arsenal, I think that we will have the advantage, since Reus seems like a proper football player, not too much interested in shopping and night life ...

Daniel Sturridge has already made the mistake of joining a London club ... Now, he is at the right place, at the right time ...

Some good news on the injuries front ... Adam Lallana is back in training ... He won't be fit for the opening game on Sunday, but it seems that we could see him on the team before the end of the month ...

A very interesting video drone footage showing the start of the redevelopment works around Anfield ...

Rodgers maintained that Liverpool will keep calm in the market and not be forced into recruiting personnel who do not fit into the club's philosophy.

High on the agenda is acquiring another option upfront.

"We'll aim to do that [add a striker] right until the end," added the manager.

"The money is there, but it's not as if there's panic to buy.

"It is something we will look to complete before the end of the window, but if we do not add upfront, it means the right player did not become available to us."

Rodgers still wants a striker and a goalkeeper before the transfer window shuts. However, the ECHO understands the Reds aren't planning to rekindle their interest in Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony.

Don't worry, many people will join the bandwagon when we start the season well and fight for the top places again ...

Brilliant move for him. Heard he was their bright spot today. Bout to turn 22. Have doubts he'll make it at Liverpool but he's going to be a good player for somebody.

Can't believe we got him for £12M and we finally have two promising FB's. Unreal.

The fact that we have still decided to sign him back in January 2012, even though his medical has revealed that he has a damaged vertebral, shows how much he was rated by our scouts ... It has resulted in a long recovery, but it seems that he has regained his full fitness, and he has continued with his development ... Rodgers giving him his full debut against Fulham in the Premier League, when we were chasing the win and the manager had more experienced options like Moses or Aspas on the bench, shows that he rates him ... If Sami brings the best out him this season, I think that he could have a future at LFC ... By the way, he turns 22 in January ... :D

Considering what kind of money Man Utd have paid for Shaw, getting Moreno for £12 million (plus £3 million in add-ons) is a real bargain ...

The good:
Lovren, Manquillo, Mignolet, Sterling, Sturridge

The bad:
Johnson, Coutinho, Lucas

Overall a pretty crappy game by Liverpool. Lucky to get out with a win. Had a lot of trouble getting the ball through the midfield. Coutinho gets sloppy and had a bad game. I'm not a fan of Lucas in general and he seemed to struggle to do anything. His effort on the Southampton goal left a lot to be desired.

I was almost laughing when Rodgers subbed out Coutinho and Lucas. I was bitching about them to friends and then shortly afterwards they came out.

Nice game by several of the new guys though. Looking forward to seeing more of them on the field.

To be honest, this team could look completely different, once Lallana, Markovic, Moreno and Can start to play on it ... The best thing about this season is that we finally have some serious squad depth, and we can afford for some of our players to have a bad game from time to time ... The bench is really deep, and Rodgers is finally able to make impact substitutions ...

I'm really looking forward to seeing Moreno. Lallana too. It puts several guys I'm not a big fan of on the bench.

I have several concerns though. The defense wasn't particularly good last year. I don't think that they are going to be great at it this year either. They need to score goals. I have a lot of confidence in Sterling and Sturridge but I question the ability of the midfielders to get them the ball. Coutinho has to play a lot better than he did today.

Also, the team started out slow last year. In much the same manner. They would score and then step back. It seemed to be a conditioning issue as things improved as the season went on.

It will take some time before the defence achieves stability ... The encouraging signs are the performances from Lovren and Manquillo today ... Lets not forget that this was their 1st competitive game (and 2nd overall) for LFC ... Once we add Moreno on the left, we will have the perfect platform to build on ...

As for the performance of our midfield today, I wouldn't be too worried ... Southampton with their high pressing style were always to cause problems to our midfield (lets not forget that they have won at Anfield last season), and the addition of Lallana would definitely help our build up play ...
