On the Spurs it seems they don't really have that. They're good on counters and long through balls which Son and Kane run down and score on opportunistic plays.

But do they have the players to build up and keep the ball in the final third to repeatedly attack?

Well, he had Özil, Modric and Alonso in 2013, for instance. Dunno about Tottenham doe.

Luck runs out sometimes.

Yeah, if anything, they were actually unlucky this game. They had better chances than Liverpool and one of Liverpool's goals was off a deflection. Not sure that Liverpool particularly deserved it more - they had a lot of the possession but not much happened with it. It was a pretty even game overall, and the home team edged out, which can sometimes happen. Happy it was a decent watch in a season where most high profile games are lacking in quality and excitement.

Yeah, truth is they were more dangerous than Liverpool. Sonaldo is a damn good player.

I was waiting for you to respond.

Klopp is definitely a sore loser. There's no denying of that lol. But if you're gonna be one, then don't play a certain way.

Liverpool had nearly 80% possession. Don't whine after & say the better team lost.

Fwiw it was a very good match. Spurs likely should have drawn.

But "Mourinho ball" would drive me absolutely insane.

Go ahead.

Also I'm sorry for being so defensive Brecht, I ate a massive curry during the match and was feeling crochety after the last minute loss. That's the best we've played at Anfield in ages.

You should never have to apologize.

Spurs played well. Deserved at the very least a point. Still not a fan of Jose tho.

It's quite normal Baph, that's what being a supporter does to us. I'm up and down like a jack in the box at the moment with out performances.

First half Liverpool deserved to be a couple of goals up, second half Spurs played well enough to maybe deserve a draw.

This is the difference between those who are going to win the league and the rest of us. As Pep said the other day there are matches you have to win if you're going to get the title. A draw would have been that statement for you but Liverpool get the win. They did that all the time last season.

For Leicester we need to get something out of our match against you but I can't see it. You have become the fast break kings this season.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has asked club officials to sign Real Madrid's Spain midfielder Isco, 28, and Lyon's France midfielder Houssem Aouar, 22, in January.

Why would either of those players even consider Arsenal?

I understand that the wages will be high but both of these players can get high wages from other clubs with better setups and prospects.

Tbf, Aouar normally would've been here already, but his manager suddenly asked double the money.
Aouar fired him over it, so that transfer could be done easily I think.

Isco in the Prem is a risk, but I've always liked him at Madrid.
Would Man Utd go for him if he's available?

But the thought of playing for Arsenal A couple of months ago is not the same as now is it?

Would Aouar want to miss out on European football next season?

Will it really matter in his decision whether Arsenal is in the EL or not? I don't think so.
Only thing that could happen is that Arsenal lose out on him because a CL club is making the same (or slightly worse salary-wise) offer.

Maybe you are both correct.

Personally I don't think the ego of any of these players will allow them to go to a club that looks unlikely to be playing in Europe next season. When Aouar was interested he'd have been thinking that Arsenal would be in the Champion's league. That is where they want to be. Top talent isn't even interested in the Europa league and certainly wouldn't want to not be playing in Europe at all. Even Man City were worried that they couldn't get the players they wanted before the ban was overturned.

I didn't realize Lyon was that good. Yeah they will likely be in the CL next year and Arsenal won't be.

But will Lyon really contend? They may get out of the Group stage but beyond that?

Not that Arsenal will be playing big matches in Europe next year but maybe big matches in the EPL are a draw?

Also do soccer players care about playing time? They could go to a club with a more loaded roster but they may not get to play as much as they might at Arsenal.

Liverpool should be 6 points clear in a couple of hours time. Title race over.
