Jogi has nominated a bunch of new players for the Sweden game next week. Holtby&Schürrle from Mainz and Hummels, Großkreuz, Schmelzer and Götze from Dortmund.

Träsch---Merte--Hummels---Schmelzer
------------Kroos------------------
Großkreuz--Holtby--Götze--Schürrle
------------Klose------------------

That screams like a 4-3 for Sweden because just about nobody except the defense will actually come back to defense.
I'm not a huge fan of Schmelzer and Großkreuz. Don't think those two have national team potential.. The other guys are great. Marco Reus should be nominated as well, though.

Congrats!

In other news, Hansa finally lost a game again. Heading into the game they were 1st place playing the last place, Bayern München II. That's simply inexcusable.

Looks like I have to work right after tonight's Länderspiel is over. I'll spend the majority of the game commuting to work :blank:

Then you spend your time better than me. Because watching that game sucks.

Yeah, the short time I actually watched the game I was somewhat disappointed by the quality of the game. Then again, Sweden put up a defensive line up and we had several new and inexperienced guys in our lineup.

Looks like Gomez is finally doing something good, he's scored in the last 5 games i think now.

btw I saw an article about him asking other players to "come out", is he out himself? I never knew that, his weird celebration after a goal doesn't help his case though.

btw, What do you guys think are the odds off Shwini leaving to England? I'd hate to lose him in his prime, it was bad enough losing Ballack to them, but he was already on the down hill by then.

Chelsea can really use Basti.

As long as Munich is reliably competing in the CL, no chance.

He said in an interview that he wants to see some English football up close, but he immediately added that this doesn't necessarily include his days as a player. Schweinsteiger is not a dumb guy and there is some kind of tradition of Bayern players becoming good/great managers...

I do agree that he looks a bit gay but it seems like there are some girls who like those men.
She's not the most beautiful girl in the world but I still think she's kinda hot.

I would put the odds of Schweinsteiger staying @ 70% right now. He'll likely demand a big contract and 2 or 3 quality players coming to Munich and stay.

Bor. Mönchengladbach - 1. FSV Mainz 05
SC Freiburg - Borussia Dortmund
Hannover 96 - Hamburger SV
1. FC Nürnberg - 1. FC Kaiserslautern

Coming up today. Should be some nice games. Especially Leverkusen - Munich.

One of the more obscure misses I can recall...you got to feel bad for Kuba.

Oh my god, missing this one is really difficult - however, I think Kuba is a fine player, fast with good technique. Sh*t happens now and then, would be worse if Dortmund lost the game.

basti is right, some goals were top this weekend, Allagui of Mainz scored two fine goals but the man of the weekend in Germany was Raul - his third goal was pure grace.

Good game day.

Mainz won 3-0 against Nürnberg yesterday.
Schalke got owned 0-5 in Kaiserslautern and Munich wins 4-1 over Frankfurt.
Dortmund still way on top of the table although they play their game in an hour (against 18. Gladbach).
1 Borussia Dortmund 34
2 1. FSV Mainz 05 30
3 Bayer Leverkusen 26
4 Hannover 96 25
5 Bayern München 23
6 1899 Hoffenheim 22
7 Hamburger SV 21
8 SC Freiburg 21
9 Eintracht Frankfurt 20
10 1. FC Nürnberg 18
11 1. FC Kaiserslautern 17
12 VfL Wolfsburg 15
13 Werder Bremen 15
14 FC St. Pauli 14
15 FC Schalke 04 13
16 VfB Stuttgart 11
17 1. FC Köln 11
18 Bor. Mönchengladbach 10

14 games in the table is still all messed up with my Mainzer managing to hold on that 2nd spot.

I don't know what was more hilarious, us scoring five (!!) or them eating five. 17 points, 25-25 goals, suddenly life looks gorgeous now *knock on wood** :D

PS: Metzelder / Van Buyten is officially the best defense of all time
