Midfield of Xavi, Busquets and Alonso seems like an overkill.

Spain could use Fabregas (and perhaps Navas) in the second half.

They've been pretty sloppy with the ball so far. Haven't seen the usual crisp passes.

Jordan never fully understood basketball. He had the lowest basketball IQ of any NBA "superstar" in history.

if Italy wins 2-0, and the other match stays 0-0, who advances?

The only way Italy doesn't advance after a win is if the Spain - Croatia match ends in a 2-2 (or higher) tie.

Spain is through regardless or the score if they draw.
The only way Spain doesn't advance is if they lose.

This "3-way-tiebreaker" rule is giving me a headache. Just wait until ESP-CRO is 1-1, and then it becomes REALLY freaky.

(long story cut short, in that case, 1. ESP, 2. ITA, 3. CRO - UEFA coefficient) :crowded:

If ESP - CRO is 1-1, then Italy needs to win 3-1 or higher, I think.

Italy is out if Spain Croatia tie 1:1 because of total goal differential. They need to beat Ireland by 3:1 or better in that case.

Strange sub - Navas for... Torres?! No CF with half an hour left? Wow.

I would have replaced Silva with Navas.

Still no sign of Fabregas.

Quote from German TV: "Amazing that neither Spain nor Croatia are playing for the 2-2 draw."
