Impressive stuff once again from city. Give them the trophy now, no point in even playing the final honestly.

Started to rewatch from the start and the dominance is way worse than the scoreline. For sure Carlo will be sacked. 4 of Madrid's starters apparently picked up injuries from playing in the last la liga match against a relegation candidate, which was dead rubber since Madrid already qualified for the CL next year. It looks like I was wrong earlier - wasn't so much Kroos/Modric's fault than City taking advantage of Camavinga's different positions in attack & defense. Walker commented in the presser that stopping Vini stops Madrid, and Carlo set up in a way where this was clinically correct.

Carlo could have switched Vini's flank, used Valverde as a 2nd forward or replacement for Benzema and gone more direct. The silver lining of the final against an Italian side is they will be more likely to test City's shape with 2 forwards, though I think the bottom 11 of City's squad could easily dispatch the best of Inter.

Don't know why everyone was so happy to jump on the -1,5 wagon. I feel City will be likely to win by 1 and I actually see it ghoing into the added time and maybe even penalties.

Good start by Inter, pressing aggressively and forcing City back

Haaland bursts into the box and fires a shot straight at Onana, City's best chance so far

Has de Bruyne ever finished an important match?

Feels like he always gets injured in the deciding games…

Was thinking the same thing.

A real shame.

Certainly improves Inters chances.
City look absolutely clueless to create a chance since de Bruyne is out.

No, unlimited budget won vs. very limited budget. That's why I'll never take European sports seriously, their competitions are pay-to-win.

The unlimited budget pl club is Chelsea and they are FFP compliant. So glad I didn't watch this final. I think the next season will be the last CL edition I'll mostly follow because the expanded format after dilutes in too much drudgery.

lol at the " bought" crap.

since 2000 they only team that has won c.l withouth MASSIVE budget is porto ( and of course they still had a massive budget in terms of their own national league).

Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Chelsea, United, Juve, bayern, inter etc all of them have enormous budgers.

The only thing i dont like from city ( and psg) is the procedende of their budget.
but regardless of that, no cl does not get bought, it gets played by finantial juggernauts.
nothign more nothign less.

what could open de field more?

revert bosman stupidty ( wich is what really ruined football) and only allow teams to have 4 players in the line up that can not play for the national team from the league the club is based.

Agreed.

It's a competition for rich teams with incredible budgets. The European Superleague which so many argued against without admitting we already have.

Calling out Man city whilst PSG can't even make a final and saying it's because of funds is just stupid. U.S. citizens thinking their mickey mouse cup type leagues are not just rich boys playtoys whilst calling out European cups because they are just rich boys play toys is ridiculous. I guess it's because most of the rich owners are Arabic/Asian (ignoring the yanks of course) though they didn't like that rich european oligarch either did they?
