Looks like it, could take over for Sagna down the line, I guess. Looks like no Vrsaljko then :(

There's a report in the MIrror about Viera coming back to Arsenal in a coaching role. That could be interesting, he's expected to be released in the coming weeks.

Also saw a story that Inter are going to bid 15 Mil for Alex Song. No way we sell him.

I'd sell him for 15m. He's made to look impressive by our system.

I think he'll be exposed and far less useful if/when we move to 442.

the 2 rumours that I keep hearing which I am excited about is.
Benzema and Navas..if we actually spend money this year and get those 2..i dont know what i will do..but something crazy.

I also still believe we need to go back to a 442 / 4411 and have walcott through the middle..we need pace in the middle.

He'd still be a useful player in the 4-4-2, I think. Especially with little Jack against stronger midfielders. We'll need his power at times. Selling the one DM would be a mistake, especially when he can fill in at Cb very competently when needed.

Don't get me wrong, I'd want Parker and another DM if we lost Song and Cesc. I put DM as the most important position this summer. I just think Song isn't suited as much to CM as a proper DM.
Jack's a solid guy, I don't think he'll have too much trouble, but Song's replacement should be a massive ****.

M'Vila shouldn't cost much more than 15M.

Navas I doubt because we don't cross to our strikers, instead we play to RVP's feet.
Doubt Wenger would splash money on a winger just for when Robin's out.

The Benzema one seems to be gathering momentum :D :droop:

I don't see Jesus Navas coming out of Sevilla or atleast Spain. This is the guy that passed on the national team due to homesickness until not so long ago.

I think he's better now. He had no problem going to South Africa at least. He probably still prefers to play close to home though

^^there is a risk..but stories are he is getting help for it.
The reason i want navas is I really do believe we need to go back to a 442 or 4411.. we need pace through the middle (walcott) but he will never be big enough to play cf in a 451..i also think arshavin will stay and be better suited in the middle.

Yeah, that's what I keep thinking.

However, Navas, I think, is far better than David Silva, who's doing alright with Man City.

Arsenal meet Velez over Alvarez
Young Guns
Arsenal’s pursuit of Vélez Sársfield midfielder Ricardo Álvarez intensified last night, when Richard Law met with club officials in Montevideo to discuss a possible transfer.
...
Last night, a three man team, including president Fernando Raffaini, met with Law to hold tentative talks over the exciting 23-year-old. However, Raffaini reaffirmed his previous stance on Álvarez, telling the media shortly after that no deal has been agreed, and that it would take a fee in excess of €12 million Euro’s to tempt Vélez to sell.
...
Despite the initial talks being fruitless, Law remains in Montevideo. No bid has been lodged, and it remains doubtful that any of the interested parties would match the asking price.

A few things pointing towards 442 next season.
