ooo I forgot Burdisso had a brother. I remember hearing about him being on Roma but I never saw him play. He didn't get many appearances

Zapata is solid, nothing special but a solid back. He's Colombia's best CB.....Says a lot about our defense though lol.

Was a great game. Both teams had plenty of chances, looking forward to the rematch at the San Paolo. Never thought I'd say it but is Gervinho the best player in Serie A right now? :o

No way. He's good, but I think a few Juve guys got him beat.

I think he's one of the major reasons why Roma are so much better this season. Of course Rudi Garcia has to take most of the credit for getting the whole team playing to their fullest potential, but Gervinho's play has been outstanding all season long.

yea honestly I'd give Vidal best player of Serie A with Gervinho 2nd. I expect this to happen when awards are announced.
Gervinho was playing frikkin out of his mind yesterday. Having already knocked out Juve with his goal in the quarters, he scored two against Napoli and was always a threat. He was often surrounded by 3-4 Napoli defenders but I don't recall him ever really losing the ball

other notes:

Pepe Reina and De Sanctis are two overrated keepers. I'll pick Reina over De Sanctis any day, but Reina gets beat near post more than anyone.

The Roma bandwagon lost a lot of hype after Juve spanked them 3-0, but they've been KILLING it since that game.

Still in 3rd place but Napoli is struggling hardcore right now. I want to point to Benitez but it's more likely that the long term injuries to Zuniga and Behrami really hurt them that much. I hate Behrami...he is a dirty player...but he was playing some of his best futbol the first half of the year.
Their other outside backs besides Zuniga have been getting hurt too: Mesto has been out just as long, Maggio finally returned from injury this week, but Reveillere just picked one up. tough luck. Oh and they sold Armero after some subpar performances. I always liked him as a winger in the 3-5-2 but Benitez wanted him to be a full back

I always thought Gervinho would do better in a slower paced league but that he is already considered the 2nd best player of Serie A.

Yeah I can't believe he'd be the second best player in such a good league. I'm not hating, but Jeez.

I hope he loses his form. Ivory Coast will be dangerous in our group.

no one could have predicted he'd be in such good form. He has a much higher soccer IQ than ppl give it credit for and finally he is finishing chances as well. He has been the perfect fit for this Roma team with his movements and dribbling. I think it is all about confidence...and with Rudi Garcia with whom he dominated the French league, he is doing big things again.

The full-back says that the Italian champions were just one of several top Serie A sides chasing him before he decided to move to Appiano Gentile
Danilo D'Ambrosio has confirmed that Juventus wanted to sign him during the January transfer window but that he had his heart set on joining Inter.

The 25-year-old full-back was formally presented to the press on Wednesday after sealing a reported €1.5 million switch to San Siro from Torino that also saw Matteo Colombi move in the other direction for the remainder of the season.

D'Ambrosio claimed, though, that while he had his pick of Serie A's top sides, he was determined to move to the Nerazzurri.

"There were a number of clubs chasing me but I chose Inter," the defender told reporters on Wednesday.

"It wasn't just Juve. The best teams in Serie A were after me, but I thought Inter's project the best and most suited to me.

"Inter are a big club and I know what [coach] Walter Mazzarri can offer wide players. Now I'm ready to do whatever the coach asks, to play either on the left or right."

D'Ambrosio admitted that he has arrived at Inter at a time of great transition but he says that he is confident that Mazzarri's men will finish the season strongly.

"It's not a great period, we've had some bad luck, but the squad is united and we want to win; I can see and feel it," he enthused.

"I'm proud to be here and I'm sure that our work on the training ground will eventually pay off."

Inter currently sit sixth in the Serie A standings, 11 points behind third-placed Napoli in the final Champions League berth.

It is nice to see this article. Hopefully Juve will not become a monopoly in this league.

So Gervinho said that the main factor in his resurgence is the coaching change in an interview w/ sports illustrated: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer ... a-arsenal/

Gervinho always had plenty of talent, but he’s playing better now than he was at Lille with Rudi Garcia. Back then, there were Eden Hazard/Adil Rami/Moussa Sow/Debuchy/Mavuba/Cabaye who were all on the same level as him or better. I’d say Hazard, Sow, and Rami were slightly ahead actually.

So far this year he’s pretty clearly Roma’s player, and they have some very good players like De Rossi, Benatia, Pjanic, Maicon, Totti, or Balzaretti.

That said, I’m sure it’s more than just the coaching change that makes the difference between his performances at Arsenal and Roma, Wenger isn’t exactly the type of coach that sucks the life outta players.

Lol at Fiore's second goal. Great counter by Fiore, but Atalanta's defense was way too slow to react and the final man was beaten far too easily.
