Gotta feel bad for Iran. They played their hearts out and Argentina needed an epic shot from Messi to bail them out (again...).

What an ending. Messi wills his team to three points.

Thats the advantage of having Messi. Argentina would be so average without him.

It does, but they need to get it together as a team if they want to go really far in this tournament.

The team that finishes second could very well finish with 2 pts.

In spite of how crappy they look, Argentina looks to have a pretty easy trip to the semi's.

And how's Ronaldo doing this world cup?

Well he is right. Besides the goal there was not much from Messi.

Why to compare? I just talked about Messi. Do we have to compare one to another?

just scoring was good enough to turn suarez into world cup legend, messi's goal was better than either of his goals.

I am not going out of my way. I personally think that he hasn't been playing well so far in the tournament.

I agree. Both goals have been absolutely brilliant and of vital importance, but in both games he was average to poor for 85 mins, and had that 5 mins of brilliance. He won't be able to get away with that against elite teams.

What was Messi supposed to do this game when he was constantly getting pressed by 2 or more defenders? He drew a significant amount of attention which left a lot of room on the wings (even with so many defenders behind the ball). Argentina's lack of creativity from the wings was poor.

Messi had like two moments where he received the ball without the D collapsing and one of them he scored the game winner. Iran had a great gameplan and executed it beautifully until that last moment.

We are talking about Iran man. What game plan and execution? You're having messi, di maria, lavezzi, higuain, mascherano etc etc.

Messi is supposed to do what he was doing a year ago. He used play against better teams and defenders than today and he wad efficient as hellz
