Podolski has been a great player for Germany.

He sucked the last 2 tournaments, but he was Germany's best player in 2006, great in 2008 and decent in 2010(scored that goal against England)

Podolski came up during a time where German football was dead(2003-06), that's why they he was so hyped.

Man, watching so many HSV games has seriously warped your perception of playing great.

123 games, 48 goals, World Cup winner. Bronze medals in the previous two and Euros runner-up in 2008.

Forgot his 06' WC performance? Best German player. 2 goals against Sweden in Munich and almost the hero vs Italy if it wasnt for Buffon. Forgot his goal against England in Bloemfoentein?

I did say he sucked for the last 2 tournaments, but dont forget what he did before that. He is a big part of this modern German generation that I really associate with 4 players: Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Klose, Podolski. They were there when it all started that summer in 06' and there when it all culminated 8 years later.

I will never understand why Zieler always makes the NT.

Even if Neuer gets a break, and Leno and ter Stegen are at the U21 squad there are still at least 5 better keepers available.

Schürrle yes(but he's overhyped anyways) but Reus certainly not.
Though, it was "interesting" to see how much they ignored him during the 2nd half and tried to play a combination game with Poldi, which lead to nothing.

The Cologne superstar's certainly celebrating every contract extension by Low, cause he's got no business in the NT for several years but still gets called up to be the clown and help team chemistry.

Looking forward to the game vs Gibraltar, will be a dominant 2-0 win

Depends on how much Gibraltar wants it.
Maybe they can score one and make it an interesting 1-2 defeat by the world champs.

BTW: That game against the US was the pure definition of a summer time game.
Try some tricks, hopefully score goals, but don't run too much and certainly don't get injured before the summer holidays.

Anyways, heads up to the US, should help them gain confidence for their next games and tournaments.
