Dortmund had a rough week. They were on fire to start the season, let's see how they recover from this. Hope they can keep winning and keep the title race interesting

Schalke never recovered from the double they got in 2 minutes.

Not many teams could recover from that...and certainly not Schalke who are still very instable when they suffer a goal against.

Freiburg cannot win to save their lives. They just lack the last bit of individual class which seperates an EL candidate from a regelation candidate.

OT: Merkel is crushing the opposition just like Bayern crushed Schalke yesterday. 42% is a monster result. SPD (26), Grüne (8) and Linke (8) low as expected, AfD (4.9) is just a few steps away - and LOL at the FDP.

First Bundesliga goal from Timo Werner.

Baring injuries in two or three years he will be a really good player.

Lewandowski to Bayern Jan 2. However, I think he is club tied for CL.

I think it's just officially announced on Jan 2, cause he can sign a pre-contract. Actual switch won't happen till the summer

Yep you are right. Looks like to be a Bosman transfer (read: FREE). He will play out his Dortmund contract until end of the season.

Lewandowski will make an already strong team even stronger. As long as Ribery and Robben are still at world class, Bayern will be the team to beat in the CL.

Lets see if Mainz can beat Cologne today after three losses in a row. :-?

....it's gonna be a long season for Mainz.

Our new transfers are all terrible with the exception of Geis put he is only 20 and not consistent.

The good news is that we'll compete with Braunschweig, Freiburg and Nürnberg against relegation.

"So ein Tag, so wunderschön wie heute...!"

Of course it had to be Risse. And Helmes didn't even play. Brilliant!

I swear I dont know how we will score for the rest of the season. Horrible is a compliment to every offensive player we have but Nicolai Müller. If you have Müller under controll, the worst thing that can happen to you is like a 0:0 draw.

And for.some reason Thomas Tuchel decides to go with the dreadful Dani Schahin, Shinji Okazaki and Sebastian Polter over Shawn Parker.

Anyway, congratulations. Köln was the better team.yesterday.

Lewandowski has more or less confirmed that he will join Bayern in 2014 for a four year deal, and that he will use the first legally possible date (January 2nd 2014) to make it official. BVB is so half-heartedly denying it, and Bayern so unconcerned about it, that I think it is legit.

Sucks that Gotze and him wanted to got to Bayern. They were building something special at BVB, I don't really see the need to jump ship when they won Bundesliga tites and reached the final of the CL.

I think Guardiola was the reason...at least for Götze.

For Lewandowski it was probably money as his manager is a money whore.

Anyway, Dortmund is capable of replacing Lewandowski. They still have money left from last season and will buy a good replacement, no doubt.

Who would they get? I know they are great at finding young talent so I am sure that they can replace him. Bayern is so stacked. They will almost have a world class player at every position once he joins.

I don't think that they had an issue with the actual team. Dortmund's problem is more or less the second unit.
When the first team is playing you only have Sokratis, Kirch, Kehl (who is hurt the whole time), Sahin, Großkreutz, Hofmann, Schieber, Duksch, Kuba from the bench. While some of them are nice players, or talents, they are hardly names which you would associate with world class. Especially at the defensive, they just have no real options. If key players get injured they are getting trouble. Every player who isn't full of euphoria can clearly see this. Furthermore they neither have the money nor the image to attract star players.

At the moment Dortmund is a very fragile puzzle, which is walking on the razor's edge. They rely on being overly effective in acquiring underrated talent. But so did Bremen just a few years ago. Dortmund has the better situation, but you might see where I am coming from.

As long as the team is staying as it is and some quality bench players are joining, they will have success. But the can not continue to replace the key players as they are used to do. And most players just don't want to rely on other players in order to stay competitive.

Bayern is just the better choice in long term. They have the better starting eleven and the way better bench. For international success you need both.

Seydou Doumbia, Stefan Jovetic, Edin Dzeko, Luis Muriel, Kevin Volland, there's strikers out there who's flourish for them if they want to buy one. But honestly, I think they may just play Auba up top while they keep grooming Duksch and reinforce further back.
