Khedira is not getting you a single penny. The contract is up and he'll return to the Bundesliga for free.
I doubt that you will find some desperate club who pays 10 mil. for Casillas or Arbeloa, too. It could happen with Casillas but only if someone goes for the name rather than performance.
You'll probably get lucky again with some dumb, desperate English club spending 50+ mil. on one of your castoffs, though.
lmao I've never seen so much masked hate for a club in one single post. No one said anything like this when Bayern brought Gotze into a side that had Ribery, Robben, Muller, and Kroos. No one said anything like this when Barca spent illegal money to bring in Neymar to a side that had Messi, Sanchez, Pedro, and Villa.
All I'm asking for is big market teams fans to not come out and say things like "we are not going to do much this offseason or we should've bought players for more than 100 mil.".
I was the first to criticize Arsenal & United fans for saying they should've invested more money on the transfer market prior to the season. So please don't act like I'm a Madrid hater now.
You would see me criticizing, too, if a Bayern or Barca fan came in here saying "oh we are not going to do much this offseason, just buy a couple players for 100 mil. €."
Madrid have actually done a great job of keeping the incoming transfer revenue high but I absolutely refuse the notion "conservative" for a club very likely to buy new players for 100 mil. €'s once again.
Perhaps compared to Wolfsburg (or whichever club you support)
That one was a good joke.
Actually, they are excess spenders as well. 32 mil. for Schürrle who hasn't improved one bit since leaving Mainz 05. Solid player but obviously they overpaid by at least 10 mil. 30M on a player like Danilo is excessive. But for a European contending team in this market, not so much.
Name me 5 FBs who have gone for 30 mil. over the market in recent years then?
There is Shaw, Coentrao & Dani Alves. That's it and the only one worth what the team paid for him was Dani Alves. Judgement on Shaw is still to be determined, though. If he wasn't from the country of England he would've never been sold for 30 million anyway, though.
FBs are supposed to be able to run, defend, put pressure on the opposing defense by making runs, make crosses and do a little bit of combination going forward. Not exactly skills you need to invest 30 mil. for unless you are getting one of the best in the world (which Danilo has not proven yet).
It's essentially the easiest position to play in todays football game but also physically the most demanding one.
So yes it is excessive considering you already have a solid option in Carvajal. Obviously, Arbeloa is not good enough but 30 mil. is still a lot.
If you think Danilo was going to cost less than 30M when he's at Porto, you're wrong.
That would be an incredibly stupid thought given that it's Porto's business model to sell overpriced.
If you think other clubs wouldn't pay just as much you're wrong.
Of course someone would, there are enough desperate clubs out there. Doesn't mean the player is worth that much, though.
If you think Arbeloa is good enough to play at Madrid, you're wrong.
That would be another incredibly stupid thought. He sucks. Same like Casillas, he is not good enough to play for RM anymore either.
If you think Carvajal can last a whole season without getting injured, you're wrong. Spending 30M on Danilo when Carvajal spends large amounts of the season injured isn't a bad investment, and it's an added bonus that clubs like Bayern and Barca, who could use a RB, lose out on him.
Barca can't even this offseason and Bayern? Hell they considered Lahm a midfielder prior to the season and didn't think it was necessary to upgrade on Rafinha of all guys. Doubt they would pay 30 for a FB unless it's one from a really big European rival. Doubt Bayern consider Porto a rival. Although Porto has as good chance of beating them as ever in recent years with Robben, Alaba & maybe Ribery injured and Lahm, Thiago, Martinez not even close to playing full games.
You also failed to mention Coentrao and Illarramendi, the two players most likely to leave this summer. If we sell both and get less than 30M between the two of them, I won't say another word. Both are on contract till summer 2019.
Definitely you are going to get a good amount for them. I just corrected where I thought you were wrong which was Casillas, Arbeloa and obviously Khedira. Why should I mention Coentrao & Illara if you are right?
:rofl2: The same castoff that everyone couldn't shut up about two years ago? Hell, even during the world cup people jumped back on the Ozil bandwagon.
Özil is a castoff at Real Madrid. Had a couple good years but failed to produce in the big games and take Real Madrid to the next level and thus was sold. Obviously other clubs were interested in him. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Not saying he was trash at Madrid but he certainly failed to make himself a legacy at Real Madrid. Not sure where you got from that people jumped back on his bandwagon because of the world cup, though. I must've missed that bandwagon.
Kroos will be the same btw. He fails to deliver in big games, too, and his refusal to defend will probably drive you crazy at some point unless you put at least one (better two!) real defensive midfielders behind him...which (it's Real we are talking about!) won't happen.
[/quote]Or did you mean Di Maria, who had even more hype going for him throughout last year? It's not luck when players that perform incredibly well in a great system get sold because they're surplus to requirement, then fail to perform in a crappier system with worse players around them.
Di Maria? He played great and they still wanted to get rid of him to finance James Rodriguez. If that's not the definition of a castoff idk what it is. Isco is probably the next one in line.
