Potentially very scary, but I still reckon they are setting themselves up for some serious chemistry problems as the season progresses. Their guys aren't going to be pleased with only playing half the games, especially when they have a fair number of outspoken and volatile characters like Balotelli, Tevez, Adebayor, Bellamy, etc. They may want to bring in a couple more players, but they need to sell 5 or 6.

Liverpool doesn't need midfield cover. In fact we are log jammed in the center of the pitch. Gerrard/Henderson/Aquilani/Adam/Lucas/Meireles. Not to mention Spearing (who sucks IMO), Maxi, and Poulsen. Liverpool looked good to me on Sat. Remember this is a team with a lot of new players. They will need time to gel. One thing I really like about this team is that we can play the ball on the ground pretty effectively (as opposed to hoofing). Liverpool needs a center half or a backup striker/winger before they need another central midfielder.

Liverpool and Arsenal especially need someone who can create in midfield

The other part of my quote.
I thought Liverpool looked rather bland for large parts of the game on Saturday. I wasn't speaking specifically about central midfield either. It seems you rate some of those players more than I do. Gerrard is great but it is no surprise Liverpool always seem to struggle when he is out of the lineup. Maxi had a good run late last season so let's see if he can do that for a full season. Poulsen is a defensive midfielder who isn't going to do much creating in the final 3rd. I have never been sold on Lucas or Aquilini. Lucas is inconsistent. I though the Aquilini purchase was more of a show to the fans that they were trying to do something. He has been a bust and a large part of Italians always seem to struggle to adapt to the Premier League. Adam is not a player to rely on, sorry. Joe Cole seems to be over it. Meireles can be a good player if he can adapt. I just feel Liverpool needs to go after someone who can provide a spark and not just a spark off the bench but someone who can do it consistently. I know it is early so I will wait and see if some of these players can be impact players or not but I just don't like the makeup of their team. The Premier League always seems to be the hardest league for foreigners to adapt so.

I do agree a striker and central defender would also help.

Liverpool is not going to compete with the elite of European Football with that lineup and that is what a team like Liverpool should be striving for.

Just my opinion.

The thing is, other than the title contenders, they don't have to go against the elite of European Football this season. It just won't be easy for Liverpool this season to attract the type and level of players that you are referring to without the CL qualification. However, their current squad should be good enough to get them back into the top 4. Lucas' improved a lot and Adam's quality as are Meireles, Aquilani and of course Gerrard. Maxi, Poulsen and Cole do suck though.

^ Agreed. Very limited options.

Lucas is inconsistent

Whoa. He was our most consistent player last season. Dominated the midfield in both Chelsea games and FA cup vs United. But yes he isn't a creator.
I though the Aquilini purchase was more of a show to the fans that they were trying to do something. He has been a bust and a large part of Italians always seem to struggle to adapt to the Premier League.

This is a common misconception about Aquaman. He played well in almost all his games for Liverpool (though not many). His problem was the injury (1st season) and Hodgson not giving him a chance (2nd season). I seriously can't think of a bad game Aquilani has played in for Liverpool.
Adam is not a player to rely on, sorry.

Why not? He's been class so far and I didn't even want him. He's so dangerous from set pieces and such a good long rang passer. I think I was wrong about this guy.
Meireles can be a good player if he can adapt.

I thought he adapted well last season...

What Liverpool need are attacking players with pace. Between Henderson, Gerrard, Aquliani, and Adam we have enough creative players who can create chances.

But before all of this we need a center half ASAP(crossing my fingers for Cahill)

I think you guys should get Dann. Young, talented, Liverpool fan, what's not to like for Liverpool?

I just think Cahill is more dynamic (like Agger) and would fit well with the ball playing, pressing style we are using. But Dann is a strong, solid center half and I wouldn't mind either of those guys.

You guys could definitely use a Cahill/Dann. Agger's alright, Skrtel has surprisingly regressed since he first came, Carragher's old and Kyriakos sucks.

Caught the highlights of todays game, Aguero looks like a beast. If Mancini can find it in himself to play Aguero and Dzeko up front with Silva backing them then City should have a formidable attack.
I'd always thought of propane as a dignified lady. But she can also be a dirty girl.

Rumours are around that Man Utd could go public in Singapore by the end of the year to raise finances.

That City match was night and day from when Aguero came on to before that. Just wow. Guy was in beast mode out the gate.

I admit I did not have much hopes that he will be stellar in the premier league and I still hold my judgement until I see him do well against a quality side but that was as good a debut as I have seen someone make in the premier league.

Cech's injured. Hilario or Turnbull in the net for a month is going to be a disaster

Here's to hoping that De Gea will manage to have a few more nervous games whilst Cech is out.
