Be honest, what did you guys think of Canada?

Think we have a shot at making it to the next round of qualifying?

I've gotta agree on that. The US was embarrassingly bad yesterday and Canada still didn't win...that's not a good sign.

Every time when I watch Canada, they always either draw or lose in close games. They play down to the level of their competition.

To me, they have to get results against mid-level CONCACAF teams before I think of them as a solid team going forward for the future.

Dempsey just took a penalty for the US, hrm, I figured Donovan would take, especially considering he's on 49 goals

Onyewu is what Charles Barkley is always talking about...he IS terrible. Why is he still on the national team?

i will be happy when gooch is no longer considered in the player pool. other than winning headers in the air, he does nothing well.

and good thing we left lichaj at home. i mean, its not like we need a left back right now.

so easy to be a gomez fan. enjoy the bench jozy.

no more Onyewu .....EVER

YAY for Fabian Johnson
who wouldnt have had the chance if that FLAKE Tim Chandler, didnt hold out for his chance to play for Germany

now we need Danny Williams to get his chance and show like Johnson

NO Castillo
hes too small for FB

Donovan, looked like he was playing NOT to get hurt (in the friendlies and the 2 qualifiers)
idk if he thinks hes sooo good that all he has to do, is enough
but id prefer he performs at a high level, as much as possible
and dominate the teams were/hes suppose to dominate

need some wingers and depth as LFB

I would dump Boyd and give Kenny Cooper a shot. Like Wondolowski, he's been smashing in MLS this year. I'd also consider swapping Eddie Johnson for Jozy Altidore.

In midfield, I'd probably swap Ricardo Clark or Benny Feilhaber for Beckerman. It's not a knock to Beckerman, I just like the other two players better.

On the back line is where I think we may have issues. Bocanegra and Cherundolo, arguably our two best defenders are 33 and may be around for the World Cup but definitely not afterwards. Onyewu is terrible and I still have no idea how Bradley managed to play Onyewu and DeMerit together and get out of the group stage in 2010. There are probably half a dozen young guys who I wouldn't mind seeing as national team regulars.

CANT agree with dumping Boyd
hes the type of Forward that we need
a big guy, with a good motor
if a team doesnt have a F thats a goal scorer
then he needs to have a high motor and forever moving and involved
i feel that Boyd has the motor part, and is working on being a better more consistent scorer
if he can, then we have the best of both
at least Altidore now has competition and is not the only choice at F

i dont like Wondolowski
i dont know Cooper that well
Eddie Johnson hasnt been with the team since JK has been coach
i agree about Clark, hes easily replaced
i like Feilhaber, hes a creative player and provides a skill set we do not currently have
i dont mind dropping Beckerman, cause we have Edu, and they both do the same thing

IDK, what wer going to do in Bocanegra and Cherundolos spots
IF, Lichaj was brought on
IF, Chandler says he wants on
IF, Brek keeps improving
IF, Danny Williams keeps improving
we should be ok with FBs and Wingers

still dont know about CBs
Cameron has looked ok, but just ok. i like Goodson, but hes barely above ok
and what about the 2 of them together ?
we would still need a Defensive Mid to protect them
which i guess is ok, since our FBs would press and attack frequently

I think you misunderstood what I said about Johnson. I meant that JK should add Eddie Johnson onto the team. I think he and Cooper should be brought up for the next round of WC qualifiers to see how they fit in with the core of the team. Boyd hasn't done anything noteworthy and I think he needs to be taken off and should have to work his way onto the team through performance, rather than the fact that he plays club in Europe. I'm indifferent as to whether I'd rather have Clark or Feilhaber on the team instead of Beckerman. Clark is easily replaced but I still think he's a better addition than Beckerman.

We've got a lot of young center backs coming up with Ream, DeLaGarza, Gonzalez, and John. I'm hoping that at least one of those guys can eventually be a contributor for the national team.

That team looks awful. Did Chandler give up on us or are we still holding out hope?

Beckerman and Beasley better not see the pitch, and I'm still not sold on Wondo doing anything of value at a national team level.

Overall, **** squad. Williams/Shea on the wings should be kinda exciting though.

and1GS

i agree 100%
lots of WTF going on here

1.) sooner or later, we have to move on to a new Keeper
2.) who are Steven Beitashour (San Jose Earthquakes) and Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City) ?
i know we need to find new CBs, so i guess nows as good of a time as any
3.) Edgar Castillo (Club Tijuana) = WTF. NO. NEVER AGAIN.
i hope only because he plays for Tijuana. BUT hes also blocking a spot for someone who can actually b good
4.) DaMarcus Beasley = WTF. NO. NEVER AGAIN.
no reason for him to b included. i really cant find any reason.
5.) Alan Gordon (San Jose Earthquakes) - idk him
6.) Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes) - i dont care how many MLS goals he scores. he is NOT a National Team quality Forward

i hope to see
GK - not howard
D - Fabian - Fiscal - Besler - Beitashour
M - Shea - Zusi - Corona - Williams
F - Herclez - Boyd

ill have to do some research on Fiscal - Besler - Beitashour and see what their true D positions are
can Zusi and Corona hold the Midfield ?
can this team complete more than 4 passes ?
