I was going to mention Aguirre and remembered that he's at Espanyol.

IF Chepo does get fired (which I don't believe he will) I think the first choice would be Fernando Tena. I've heard Vucetich metioned a lot. I really don't think we'll see a coaching change.

If I was Mexican, I would hope that Mexico fails at Confed cup so that they can finally get rid of the man.

Qualifiers this week. We should have a clear picture of who is going after this set of games. A win for Colombia vs Ecuador leaves us pretty much set. Hopefully Pekerman will get his head out of his ass and field the right starting 11

USA @ Costa Rica Friday night. Believe or not, the record is worse at Costa Rica than it is at Mexico.

Guess our investment in youth paid off. All Spanish goals in the 6-2 thumping of Austria were scored by Real Madrid youth products that are now first team members. Morata x4, Carvajal, and Jesé. Between them, Isco, and Illarramendi we've got at least four of the future Senior Spanish side's starting XI. Only one that's got serious competition in the same age group is Carvajal.

The right side of Mexico's attack is non-existant. They just dumping it into Dos Santos and expect something to happen.

I still think Mexico makes it but it will probably have to go through Wellington, New Zealand.

EDIT Panama just dropped more home points with a scoreless draw against Jamaica.

Costa Rica, US, and Honduras would be the 3 automatic qualifiers as of right now.

Hah, the way Mexico is playing, they won't beat anyone. I hope Chepo swallows his pride and quits tonight. He is not the man for this job.

He is not going to quit. There is a clause in his contract that says something that if he resigns, he will lose $$$$.

BREAKING: José Manuel de la Torre deja la Dirección de la Selección Nacional

Translation: Chepo is GONE

Luis Fernando Tena is the new manager for Mexico.

IDK why it took this long for Chepo to get fired. Mexico is usually quick to pull the trigger on coaches.

Colombia wins and is pretty much in already. I am still not liking what I see on the field. We are getting results so the people love our coach, but we are nowhere near as good as we can be. Leaving Cuadrado, Quintero, Guarin, Muriell on the bench while playing the likes of Magnelly Torres, Abel Aguilar, Teofilo Gutierrez, etc. I don't get it. I am sure the coach is smarter than me, but it is common sense.
