What kind of a crap team loses to Ipswich? Honestly...

What do you think of Iraola, Bournemouth's manager?

They play good football whenever I watch them, and have collected some impressive scalps this season. Other than that, I've felt so detached from football lately that I don't have much of an opinion otherwise.

I get what your saying, but it's a "trickle" effect. Peak players won't go....and prob even level 2 players won't go. But level 3 players will...and that makes a shortage...which boosts other lvl-3 prices...which boosts lvl-2 prices, and so on.

Until it becomes more the norm, what you're saying will not happen. Keep in mind we saw this over in China/Asia a few years ago. A handful of players opted for the money, however, it never impacted future transfers as you're suggesting.

The Saudis were giving some golfers 9-figure bonuses to sign with their tour.

It doesn’t sound like they’ve been as generous with footballers but if they started giving them 8 or 9 figure payments, more players are likely to jump.

Mourinho is an equally terrible coach at this point, just on the other end of the pitch. At least Tottenham entertains audiences now.

Happy new year

Transfer window is open now, hopefully Villa can upgrade on our right side of the pitch. Also hopefully we can get a CB. I think 3 signings could help us for the rest of the season. It’s been rough at times but a lot of our squad has been punching above their weight.

We are still trying to adapt to not having Diaby and Luiz in the squad, I think more so Diaby has been a big miss for us. Unfortunately Philogene hasn’t adapted well just yet, he’s still young and has time. If we bring in a winger we should probably loan out Philogene to get his confidence back up.

We need a solid RB/CB from somewhere and possibly someone to play AM/SS. We are getting into great positions but, we just can’t score or we are let down by a final ball. At the same time Konsa has gone off the boil a bit although he’s played RB where he’s weaker, Diego Carlos has always been a liability and the sooner we can sign his replacement the better. Pau has struggled at times and now is injured for potentially 6 weeks.

Getting to the next stage of the champions league and finishing in the top 7 would be a good season for us imo. This was likely the goal for this season and if we can achieve that, then we’d have done well.

Is this match considered a Derby?

Never been out to Brenford but see that Kew Gardens are out there.

Also usually take the Piccadilly line to/from Heathrow so I've been kind of close.

Well, they're both London based, so I guess it's a derby.

Big, resiliant performance by Arsenal! Nwaneri looking great as a possible Saka replacement.
Great goal by Mbuemo.

Can anyone explain Newcastle's first goal? If Joelinton doesn’t handball it, Spurs are in space in midfield...

Who would have thought Tottenham would have 10 league losses in 20 games. Manchester United could join them tomorrow.

Joelinton and Bruno are brutes that are always protected by refs. I don’t understand how many times they both get away with murder.

They ruled his arm/hand was in a natural position. Since it didn't directly lead to the goal, it's not an offence of the rules.

Doesn't make sense, I know.

The Brighton penalty was a joke.

Saliba touches the ball beofre the clash of heads. That itself should be enough.
Another thing we'll never see punished again.

It is a joke and this is also a consequence of the officials not sending Pedro off for the attempted elbow a few games ago.

Anthony Taylor is at it again.

Honestly, I have little pity for Arsenal in regards to the penalty.

Mikel Arteta on Diaz's disallowed goal vs. Spurs:
“They are trying to make the best decisions. We need to understand that mistakes happen.”

Point being you had a chance to take a stand, but you stayed tribal. And once again, each club suffers as a result.

Solid half from ManU. Wonder if they will keep it up.

You can tell they are def lacking in talent and finishing.

Hands up, who saw that coming?

Surprisingly a great game, United could have won.
