I was at the USA/Germany friendly in DC (and also at the friendly vs. Azerbaijan last week). It was pretty high profile and rowdy for a friendly - it was the 100 anniversary game for US soccer, Klinsmann vs. his old German squad. A lot of German fans travelled to DC for the game, and a rowdy, sold out stadium. Sure Gemany was missing some of their best players. US was missing some of their best players as well. The end result may have been 4-3 but it was a beatdown by the US, with a lot of those Geman goals coming in garbage time.

That's not why I think the US will beat Germany in Brazil though : ) I think US will beat Germany because Klinsmann knows that team so well, its players, coaches, philosophies. And with those connections will come some mind judo and German players getting into their own heads. Also, Germany doesn't seem to be exactly flying high heading into Brazil?

#NINEPOINTS ; )

BTW, US will have more fans in attendance at the World Cup, outside of host Brazil!

I'm rooting for the US in this group purely because of Klinsmann. I'll always remember him as a proper Spurs man.

Group of death. Im tempted to put money on Germany gettingt thrown out in group stage now that Bierhoff said "the final is realistic."

Yeah, that wouldn't surprise me. Then again, I could also see us making it to the final.

I'd like to wait until they played Portugal before I make a prediction.

Germany is my prediction to win the whole thing. I don't like the US's chances, but playing Germany last means we might be able to steal a result if they win their first two games and rest a bunch of guys.

Ghana worries me more than Portugal. They always beat us on the big stage.

Germany and Portugal advance from this group. I like Ghana's team more than the USA side. Poor Americans don't even stand a chance.
Looking for a new signature. Currently, still evaluating.

they have a chance, they could easily get a point from germany and beat ghana. that might very well be enough.

I remember in 2006, and in 2010, US media thought Team USA could beat Ghana rather easily, smh. We have players from our 2009 U20 World Cup championship team on this squad.

This is indeed the group of death.

USA has improved but Ghana is a tough team.

I'm predicting Germany will advance, with a battle between Portugal and Ghana.

Ghana is a must win. Any other result puts serious pressure on us and trying to grab 3 points from the other two teams will be tough. I think 5 pts would be enough to get out of the group.

I've got Germany winning the group and USA progressing with them.

U.S. has to and will beat Ghana. They'll draw Portugal because Portugal will be overrated like they always are.

Germany will have 6 points heading in to that final match and will rest certain players as they'll settle for a draw against the U.S.

Let's go Ghana! Just defeated South Korea 4-0 in a friendly and on a roll heading into the World Cup. Be Afraid!

The USA-Ghana match is critical. Someone needs to grab three points from that game if they want to advance.

I don't get where people are coming up with this overrated stuff- if anything we're underrated. People forget this Portugal side was there at Euro 2012, where they held WC holders and eventual winners Spain to a scoreless draw in the semi finals, only losing on penalties. Team chemistry is never a problem for us, and the US don't have players on the level of Coentrao, Pepe, or Moutinho, let alone the best player in the world. I like our chances.

American pride. On the flip side Portugal hasn't played too well leading up to the WC. They had to scratch and fight. We will see what happens but it would be a disappointed if the US advanced and not Portugal
