In transfer news (and by that i mean potentially reliable rumours as opposed to blatant lies), PSG are said to have agreed an €80m fee with Juve for Pogba.

And apparently, Dortmund are about to announce that Gundogan won't renew his deal. Those Man Utd reports must be true.

Makes for an interesting situation, as one of Verratti or Matuidi are likely to become available. I personally think they ought to hold on to Verratti, but as a Madrid fan I'd have to think hard about a move for him- he's a more natural DM than Kroos and his acceleration over short distances kind of reminds me of Modric, which would allow for an interesting midfield combination.

Ogden says United are prepared to pay £100M for Bale. That's about 140M euros.

Like Man of Steel said, it would be Perez's call in the end, but I don't think even Real can say no to 140M for Bale. That's enough money for Pogba, Verratti and Adebayor.

It would suck to see him back in the PL with a team that isn't Spurs, but I think I'd prefer to see him at United than Chelsea. No disrespect intended, but they're a lesser evil. :evil:

London rivalry, bad relationship between fanbases + Abramovich. I'm not United's biggest fan but Spurs and United are mostly irrelevant to one another.

From our perspective. If he goes to United, that's one thing. He'd be going to the biggest, richest club in England. If he comes back to London but joins another club though, that is a bit of a punch in the gut.

I've been a little worried that he'll do just that, but these new figures are insane & beyond Chelsea. Giving up Hazard might be the only way to land Bale for them.

Bale is a special case. In the EPL market he's worth 100+, to the rest of the world he's worth 60 to 70.

Bale has shown that he can be a dominant player when given freedom to roam and in the EPL, I understand why a team like United would buy him to try to catch Chelsea, regardless of the price. It would be crazy if this guy gets 2 100 million transfers without ever being a top 5 player lol. Crazy.

I don't understand why they'd spend that much on him, but if I'm Perez, I pull the trigger and make the best of this window before the supposed transfer ban. They still haven't issued a notice for Real Madrid regarding that- they did for Barca, and they've already done so for Atleti, so who knows if we even get slapped with that to begin with.

140M Euros for one player, having a subpar season by his standards, is insane. At least when we dropped big money on him he was coming off a POTY season where he decided games week in, week out. I won't complain though, just thank him for all he brought us last year/possibly this year. Would've preferred to see him go back to Spurs if anywhere, but with these prices that wasn't going to happen.
