Burnley breaking the streak is ironic.

Getting Odegaard would be awesome

I see that we were mentioned too. I'm guessing we want cover because Praet is out for 3 months and we'll have 2 games a week for much of the year with the Europa league starting back up and of course the FA Cup.

He's clearly a very good player but I wonder how long he'll take to be ready to play, he's been out quite a while hasn't he?

Still with the talk about him and Eriksen these last few days it's clear we're looking. We can't afford that sort of weekly wage though so you have the upper hand there, ours would most likely be a final day loan paying part salary because no-one else took him.

Is Klopp losing it a bit? Like Nigel Pearson did.

Vardy out for operation

DeBruyne out 6 weeks.

Manu and Liverpool can smile a little.

I wouldn't wish injuries upon anyone - so it doesn't make me smile.

Only thing i wish for right now is to celebrate a goal again. When we play Tottenham next in the prem, it will be two days short of a month without a goal in the Prem. First time in 15 years going four Prem games without a goal. Klopp took the team to new heights, but the signs we're seeing right now reminds me of the last season he had in Dortmund. The team needs renewal and this summer are going to be vital for the future - Klopps biggest test yet.

I think they should've changed it up more last summer.
They had some bad luck with the injury of Jota and the Thiago covid situation.

Also, Klopp shows less trust in Shaqiri, Minamino, Origi, Ox, ... if you compare it to other seasons, so the other players have to play even more.

You guys should be on the market for a new striker now surely?
Iheanacho and Perez aren't that good.

But what CL level striker is going to agree to come knowing that he'll still be second choice to Vardy?

Vardy is an incredible player, even when he doesn't score, even when he doesn't touch the ball, he creates chances for others with his running, positioning and just his threat.

We have needed a back up striker for years, that's why we paid out so much for Slimani and Musa and then for Iheanacho and Perez but strikers need to be the centre of the action moreso than any other player. They need the confidence of being the mainman on that pitch.

I'm sure we'll get someone in the summer and we really could do with someone now but as I said the only real prospect is a young player 21 -23 who'll be happy to be the second choice and play in cup matches and less difficult league matches. Odsonne from Celtic would probably be a good take and I'm sure there are a few out on the continent but I just can't see it happening.

To be honest I'd love Giroud, he could easily be our Cavani and lead us to a top 3 place and Euro trophy.

Looking at the "second" team you're putting out today for the CUP you don't really need him do you? Excellent depth which shows the difference between you and teams like Southampton and us.

Watching the game shows we need him, because Willian isn't a 'number 10'.

We also really need a leftback to cover for Tierney. Playing a right footed player at left back is asking for troubles. Expecially when the forward on the left is also a right footed player. No overlap possible, because both have to cut back or inside.

Unlucky to be down 1-0 after a decent first half by both teams.

Wouldn't worry about it, Doctor Tottenham's in and we'll roll over for Liverpool like we always do. That'll get your season back on track.

I hope so, highly doubt it though.

Klopp has stated publicly that FSG, the owners, aren't willing to spend anything. The need for a CB is so **** obvious. Matip are getting injured next game - and then we'll have to play either two central midfielders as the two centerbacks for the rest of the reason, or play one of the two young CB's - Phillips or Williams - both of them being far, far, far from the required level. Williams today was absolutely terrible, and i feel bad for the kid. He should never, ever have played in a game like this. Championshp talent at best, League 2 level at the moment.

Every Liverpool fan watching the games have been screaming for a CB all season after Virgil and Gomez both went for the season. The fact we didn't have one ready and signed him the second the transfer window opened is a damn mystery. The fact we still haven't signed one yet and Klopp publicly shows frustrations over it, should really be enough for the owners to realize the desperate need. Just sign someone on a free transfer like Sokratis or Subotic - still 10 times better than the alternative right now. Or get someone in on a loan-deal. That should be cheap-ass price for something that potentially can save the season.

Without a new CB i highly doubt we're making top-4 - and no way we are going far in the Champions League either.

If true I guess that Rafa is on his way in.

Personally don't think Lampard was given enough time but then again I don't think players should manage in the prem before managing in the lower leagues.

Perhaps he can replace Arteta TB? :D
