Mou doesn't play Mata with Hazard and Oscar at the same time and he prefers Oscar thus far, so Mata doesn't get the time to play. He's sorta in the same position Fabregas is in now.

No fabregas plays regularly , Mata's World Cup spot isn't guaranteed too. So is it an issue of his fitness still or that mou doesn't prefer him?

I was talking about last season. The trio worked really well and I thought Mata would be perfect for the 4-2-3-1 system that Mou likes to run, but apparently Mou has a lot of faith in Oscar as the central guy. I would cry if we sold Mata :(

I think it's a little bit of both. Only Cech, Hazard, Cole, Ramires and Ivanovic are certain to start the important matches. The remaining spots really depend on fitness level and the style of play.

I would like to see the midfield five of Hazard-Mata-Willian and Ramires-Oscar, but De Bruyne and Schurrle are quality too. I have full confidence in Jose, so I guess he can choose whichever 5 he wants

We had some back and forth in another thread, someone posted Cesc's minutes during UCL, he basically didn't play in one of the bayern games and came on on like the 70th minute on the other games. It's pretty disrespectful to someone who was Arsenal's captain.

Also, I'm guessing they will showcase more of Neymar going forward since they paid a lot for him. Cesc is probably just counting down the days until Xavi takes a back seat.

Yeah you guys are stocked with tons of options it helps when you're a top club being involved in 4 different competitions. Last year I remember players being dead tired kiling you guys so I guess a selection headache is a good thing. Yeah mourinho should know what he's doing

Even if mata plays well will he get ahead of isco in the world cup squad? They are really spoiled for options but somehow Torres will make it and become the winningest player ever!

Isco hasn't done much to put himself above Mata in the pecking order, but who knows what Del Bosque will do... Probably the same old XI that includes Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Pedro and Busquets

This is quality you can't buy

But seriously, Spain has a striker issue, they will be forced to play Barca style for the WC

Yeah Del Bosque seems obssessed with his old line up and afraid to make a change. I'll be surprised if Mata or Isco make the starting line up

Brits don't generally tip in their home countries. I wouldn't be surprised if they rolled into the bar and spent a ton of money on booze and the girl there thought she was going to get the tip of her life and then when she saw the tip it was a tiny % and she freaked.

Another tough loss yesterday. We need to snap out of this. Play some defence again. Defence was sloppy at times last year and still looks shaky. Hope it gets improved.

Awesome read. I still don't get why many managers, including Colombia's, stick with that 4-4-2 formation. Looks like Oscar is going to hold on to that 10 position in Mourinhos 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formations. It is looking more and more likely that Mata might be sold.

I'm more worried about our offence and the ineptitude of our strikers (1 goal in 6 games). Defence only goes to **** when we fail to put the game to bed and the other team starts taking more chances. 1 goal was enough when we had prime JT, Carvalho and Maka, but this team isn't as capable of defending a 1 goal lead.

We really missed Drogba yesterday. Ivanovic was the only one who looked dangerous from the many corners we had, and Didier would have cleared the corner Basel scored their second goal from. Their first goal was a good team goal, but second was just a mess.

That's like 2 blocks from my old place on the same street when I lived there. Cashley must have done something to get that treatment, the bartenders usually go out of their way to be nice in that neighborhood.

1. Chalobah to Nottingham Forest on loan
2. McEachran to Watford on loand
3. Oscar our #10: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... ta-2288912

Basically Mata will have to improve his performance or play backup to Oscar or start at RW.

I'm cool with all 3 decisions.

Liverpool is wiring you £25M for Mata right now. Have him shipped to us in bubble wrap by New Year's Day please. Handle with care.

Better chance of him being forced to train with the U18's like Malouda.
