Another argument for.video replace. Although you can argue its Hoffenheims fault if they dont manage to have a serviceable goal.

Kinda hoping they're forced to replay the match and hoppenheim get the W.

aren't grounds staff supposed to check the netting prior to game and at half? How can they let that slip

Pretty sure that that game is gonna be replayed, just like the first "phantom goal" BL match (Nuremberg - Bayern 1993, Thomas Helmer's "goal") was repeated.

Match officials should check the nets prior to the start of each half. The assistant referees are supposed to thoroughly diddle the nets with they flag poles.

They did change the net 30 minutes before the game started...

Away game in Munich today for Mainz. Anything better than a loss with a 3 goal margin will be considered a victory given the pathetic form we have been in lately.

We did a perfect job in the first half....Bayern no chances created at all, Parker scores on our only shot on goal...first 5 minutes of the 2nd half Bayern come out like a rocket and score two goals within 2 minutes. SMH.

I just saw the highlights of Hoffenheim vs. Leverkusen...Felix Brych should never whistle another soccer game again. Just an embarassing performance by him and his assistants.

First they don't see the hole in Hoffenheim's net.
Then a clear onside goal from Hoffenheim denied.
Then the phantom goal from Kießling.

...and then Brych gives a penalty to Hoffenheim for a tackle clearly outside of the penalty box to make up for his phantom goal error.

The reffing was terrible, and the really bad thing is, that the DFL is deferring the decision to repeat or not repeat the game to the FIFA, and the FIFA bosses are clearly not willing to repeat the game. Let's list the winners and losers...

WINNERS
Leverkusen for winning 3 points

LOSERS
Hoffenheim for falling prey to a historical blunder
Kießling for instantly becoming the most hated player in the BL
Leverkusen for instantly becoming the most hated team in the BL
Brych for instantly becoming the most hated ref in the BL
DFL for being a bunch of cowards
FIFA for cynically preventing fair play
Soccer for rearing its cold, heartless head

PS: On "Aktuelles Sportstudio", Leverkusen captain Simon Rolfes went on a funny rant that "injustice in soccer is a part of life, so just let us have the win and move on". Let's see if Rolfes is still that stoic when HE loses a match like this!

Why don't FIFA want to repeat the match?

Mario Götze can't get a break. What he said was "Ich fühle mich wohl und ich werde immer FITTER" ("I am feeling well and becoming FITTER"), but the transcription service for the deaf people made a Freudian mistake.

(For you non-Germans: "fetter" = "fatter")

To be fair Gotze is so going to follow the gerd mueller path and become our kleine dicke Mario in his late 20s.
