Fergie sometimes even had Rooney as a genuine midfielder. Which is god awful to me.

I remember like 4 years ago he was playing also as a left winger doing a ton of defensive work. Such a waste.

Why do you think it delays the game?

The ref needs to tell them where to stand. This way he can put down a line and walk away. Doesn't add or take away any time, but shows clearly if they overstep the 10 yards.

Still bummed for our Croat friends. They deserved a draw and a soft penalty shouldn't have cost them that point.

I agree. I've seen the players on eating like 5 feet of the distance from the time the referee tells them were to be to the time the free kick is taken. Its doesn't delay the game that much and prevents the referee to have to make the line again.
