I thought we were gonna draw/lose today. Instead it was a smashing. Whole 2nd half of the season to go...and nobody looks great. I wanna have high hopes, but another couple draws, and we're right back with the pack. So I'm gonna remain convinced that stupid Man $hitty are gonna somehow pull this off. Our last 4 games.....it's gonna be tough. I wanna see us keep building our lead. give me 20 points, and maybe I'll relax!

lol City are pretty much dead at this point. They've built too much of hole to come back from. It would take an epic collapse from us, as well as a complete turnaround for them to even sniff it.

I think it's down to us & Arsenal for the title if I had to wager. But I certainly love being 9 points clear of them at the moment & obviously, I'd love to see that gap grow.

Wouldn't mind seeing us pick up a defender in Jan. I think Konate is supposed to be back soon, but until he is...it's a hole. And looks like Gomez messed up his hamstring, which is typically a long spell. So would be good to get someone who can back up in case of anything else.

I also hate to say it...but Robbo is prob at his end here. Big fan of his....but he's starting to become a real liability. 30 years old is getting up there...but it's hardly "past it". I'm not sure what happened. Maybe injury didn't quite heal right? Whatever it is, he's not what he was. I know he was never anything special defensively....but he was serviceable....and wrecked havoc offensively. There's none of that now. Could be the new coaching style, and whatnot....but either way, he's def become a liability.

Your prob right. I like Arsenal normally. One of my best bud's is a big Arse fan....so they are kind of my second team. But right now, I need them to go on a nice dry spell of about 4 straight draws. =0)

If Nottingham, Chelsea, and $ity wanted to do the same, I'd be ok with that too.

Crazy that N-Forest are 2nd. Crazy that we're 1st.

It's begun...

David Ornstein tweet:
Real Madrid approach Liverpool to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold. No offer made but #RMFC willing to pay for 26yo England int’l. Rebuffed immediately. No figures discussed but #LFC plan to talk with right-back’s camp soon.

There's a report that Elon Musk plans to buy Pool. £6 billion.

Well he's been weighing in on UK politics recently.

Good luck guys.

Very disappointing result against Manchester United. For much of the match, many looked complacent.

I am concerned for Quansah. Slot would rather rush Konate, who looked off it today.

EDIT: TAA's play was poor. Several times throughout van Dijk looked at him in disgust, shaking his head. If Trent's head is turned, move on.

"Weighing in" is putting it politely. He's signal boosting every hamfisted neo-nazi talking point and bank rolling Farage's right wing Reform party. He needs to **** off.

There is absolutely no chance in hell a working class city like Liverpool would ever accept him as owner. I don't think it will ever happen.

You know...this has been Liverpool's MO for a while now. My Arsenal fan buddy texted me last night, conceding the title to us. I told him not to worry....plenty of games left, and watch us lose/draw tmrw. There was just soooooo much hype about what a thrashing this would be, and if Manure could just get away with a 0-3 loss, it would be great. You just knew this was coming. I read a few years back that only 1 team has led the Prem after jan-1 and gone on to lose...and it was Liverpool 3 times. Seems like we've done it a couple times since then as well.

How many times have we chased City to just watch them win, and win, and win, and win.....and eventually we taper off? Not us! Noooooo....we go choke mode. Done it a ton. Today was a day against a crippled, sorry, shell of Manure. A chance to stick our foot to the throats of any would-be challengers, and say "f off! This is our year!" - instead....renewed hope for challengers, and a completely missed opportunity.

Man, I get so frustrated and disgusted with the squad sometimes. We can never pull the 'kill shot'.

We're still sitting pretty good.....but not separating. Our last 6-7 games are no joke either. I'm not sure we win this. The second City figure their sh++ out (which it looks like they have)....watch them win out. And we're not gonna be able to keep them off.

This was always my issue with Klopp...the way we just sputtered and clanked at the end of last season was basically embarrassing. I thought it was a Klopp issue. But perhaps its this squad (which is his squad). We're on pace for 8-9 draws this season. That's about a 1/4 of the games! I mean, come on! How you gonna win a title like that??

I agree with you though....If Trent ain't here, then bugger off. I hate it when these guys want it both ways.

I'd like to see the fans and the media put the screws to Slot this week. I'm curious what he does / what he's made of. He's had a nice long honeymoon. But this was on him, and his team today. No excuses. He needs to hear it, and get some flack. Not acceptable.

The majority of time it's doom and gloom with you. Do I need to bring up our previous back and forth in regard to Klopp -- how you were finished with him early in his tenure?

Yes, LFC have lost the PL despite leading at the New Year, however, two of those times were against Manchester City, still waiting on the outcome of the 115 charges, but the club did not choke those seasons -- collecting 97 points (2018-19) and 92 points (2021-22).

And no, Manchester City is not winning out. You've simply been beaten down enough to think that. Without Rodri, it's not happening, plain and simple. Wins over West Ham and Leicester do not signify figuring their you-know-what out.

Does Trent think his best Jimmy Butler impression is going to get him a January transfer to Madrid? Just abysmal from him. He should have been yanked at halftime. Curtis was bad too.

Alexis was and has been recently absolutely great. Long may it continue. We missed Szoboszlai's engine today.
It's time for 5 refs.

Bring up whatever you want. I have never shied away from what I said. I admit as much in my post. Klopp did some great things, and will always be a hero for bringing Liverpool it's first Prem title. But there were some seasons along the way with double-digit draws, and I wanted him out. Didn't think he'd bring us a title. Well, I was wrong. He brought us one. I wish I could say there were more than one. Prob shoulda been. My relationship with Klopp is complicated. Alot of things I like about the guy.....some things I find pretty disappointing.

And sure...it's pretty doom and gloom with me....but with almost 40 years of the prem, and 1 title to show for it, leaves little to brag about. Seeing as we've been in the prem every year....odds are we shoulda won 2 just being there. Add the fact that we have our history, and have always been a fairly big spender, and destination....it's a pretty paltry record we have to show for ourselves. One title is luck....ask Leicester. We've been 2nd or 3rd about 12 times...so yeah.....that "so close, yet so far" disappointment, is pretty much my baseline with this team.

If you find it satisfying....then good for you. Not for me.

Admirable totals...but a choke job is a choke job. City were behind...were they not? And somehow got ahead of us each time. So.....someone slipped on the banana peel. Funny how that hasn't happened the other way around.....EVER

Yeah...and no one said Manure had a shot in hell today (except my moody a$$). Maybe your right...maybe your wrong. But based on history.....if I had one team ahead of me Jan 1st.....I'd hope it was Liverpool.

Well played by your boys today. I personally like it when the Liverpool / Manure game is a thrilling potential trophy winner. I know you guys are down...but you showed grit today. Sad it had to be against us...but I suppose thats why we hate each other, no?

Trent wants it both ways. He wants to go...but wants to win a last title with us, and somehow stay a folk-hero around the team. In the end...if this team does blow it, and not get the title....almost all the blame will go to him, and he'll have completely alienated himself from Liverpool...ala Owen. He shoulda just gone.

Sad cause I was a huge TAA fan....but his selfishness is now hurting us. And Slot should recognize, and act accordingly. This game was a wake up for the team (I hope). We're gonna blow this thing, like we've done far too many times before.....if we don't get that single-mindedness back. Management has done a great disservice imo, by letting all these contracts get to this point.

*edit* Still am a huge Trent fan. Guy is a fantastic player. Just think we need guys 1-million percent on board, and I don't think he is. I'm not saying it will be his fault...but he'll get the lion's share of the blame if things do ultimately go south. But on other hand, I suppose we need his talents to help it from going south....so it's an ugly lose-lose. Either way....if he wants to go, then the team should just move him. It's only gonna get worse.

Very happy with the lineup today. I think we have some very promising young players. Would like to see a few more games like this, with the bulk of our starters getting some rest. I get that we can't always play lesser division teams...but I'd like to see more of these guys sprinkled in...maybe 1-2 at a time.

Grats to Chiesa poppin his Liverpool cherry. Trent looked like Trent again, which was nice. Man that pass by Szoboszlai that led to the first goal....what a beauty. Trent made a pretty sweet pass as well.

Good win...movin on. Got a tough one coming up in just a couple days.

Happy for Chiesa.
Will his body hold up and allow him to actually contribute a bit in a more meaningful match? Hope so but doubt it :(

Well, we got a draw at least. City did the same.

What a weird season. We looked pretty dominant for the first 15 games or so, but we've certainly come down to earth lately. Nobody really looks very good, if we're being honest. Once this season is over...there's sure to be some frustrated fans out there...cause this was one of those "up for grabs" years, with nobody really winning it. Someone has to come out on top! lol....hope its us

And this is why it's so frustrating with some of these players. Jota, who equalized as a sub against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, has another injury. It's the reason Nunez will not be sold this transfer window.

LFC has to look into these players better before bringing them onboard. Ability means nothing without availability.

We live a charmed life today.

I think Brentford was content to get the 0-0 draw. Not alot of fight outa them.....little rise in the counter towards the end, when we started pushing for all we could, to try and get something. Big 3 points by Nunez.

I think the book has been written on Nunez' Liverpool career....but today will give a little love to him. It's just been far too little from him. I watched a video about how he basically just doesn't fit our game....and that it's not his fault or ours. I guess there's prob some truth to that, but either way, the goals aren't there in any sort of consistency. So while today was a good moment for him, and a chance to give something to the cause....I'd be ok with moving him. Seems like a good guy. It's a shame it didn't work.

Arse drew, which certainly helps our cause. I dunno....like I posted a few posts earlier: I just don't see anyone able to string any sort of win-streak this year. We had a nice run at the start of the season....and that very well might be enough this go 'round. We've only got 3 actual Prem-League games coming up for almost a month.....with 2 of the 3 games against teams deep in relegation territory. So let's get some rest on our guys please. I'd say sit Jota for a couple weeks....but does it even matter?? The guy is fantastic, but "made of glass" is an insult to glass! What a shame.....a true "what might have been" story.

Anyhow...we press on. If nobody else can get their sh** together this year....maybe we can do this.
