BVB is in dire straits. No Subotic, no Hummels, no Schmelzer, and even if they sign Manuel Friedrich, he is in no shape to help vs Bayern. Piszczek is just out of rehab, I dunno if Klopp should immediately throw him back in. Sokratis as CB is a no brainer, Bender will shift from CM to CB, slotting Kehl (who himself is just coming back from injury) into the CM position. At LB, you got Durm (8 BL games) vs Arjen effing Robben. Sounds like fun :-?

Weidenfeller
Großkreutz, Sokratis, Bender, Durm
Sahin, Micky, Kehl
Reus, Lewa, Kuba

Yes, Bayern is also missing Schweini, but then, they have like 937493 players on the bench. :meditate:

Seriously, this is how I differentiate a top side (Dortmund, Arsenal), from a world class side (Bayern).

Bayern missed or is still missing this season players due to injuries like Martinez, Thiago, Schweinsteiger, Götze,
Badstuber, Shaqiri, Pizarro, Höjbjerg… but they never lost quality and had always 14 top players available. They didn't loose quality through the injuries.

damn sucks for dortmund. Didn't think there could be a team unluckier than arsenal but they've been that this season so far.

bayern has unreal depth matched by like only chelsea and chelsea still doesn't have bayerns depth IMO

In related news: Van der Vaart injured his ankle in the Dutch friendly and is probably done for the year. :banghead:

Bayern is a bit thin at striker. If Mandzukic is out they basically have to play false 9 in important games. Pizarro is getting old. For the Bundesliga and weak CL teams it's still good enough but you don't want to rely on him in a big game.

If they have Lewandowski and Mandzukic next season they'll be even better.

Breaking news: Ribéry has injured a rib and will miss the Dortmund game. Projected XI

Neuer
Rafinha, Dante, Boateng, Alaba
Lahm
Robben, Kroos, Javi, Götze
Müller (Mandzukic)

(Note to self: Ribéry never plays well vs Dortmund, Großkreutz always slows him down. So actually, I dunno if that is SUCH a loss...)

So
Kuba/Bender - Sokratis - Friedrich/Kehl - Grosskreutz
Sahin - Bender/Kehl
Auba/Kuba - Mkh - Reus
Lewa

With Hoffmann, Duksch, Schieber and one of Kehl/Kuba/Lars as their only real bench player outside of the children at CB...yeah this would be a great time for Dortmund to pull a rabbit out of their hat.

That team wins the EPL.

Borussia fan here.

I'd go with:

GK: Weidenfeller
RB: Großkreutz
CB: Sokratis
LB: Durm
DMF: Sahin
DMF: Bender
RMF: Reus
LMF: Kuba
AMF: Mkhitaryan
CF: Lewandowski
CF: Aubameyang

Still, I think Borussia are gonna get shellacked with that paper-thin defense.

It pains me to say this, but my prediction for Saturday:

Borussia 0-4 Bayern

By the way, you have no idea how glad I am for this thread. In my part of the world, NOBODY watches the Bundesliga, even though it's aired on TV here, so when I try to talk to other football fans, they either have no clue what I'm going on about or laugh at me (I mostly watch the Bundesliga - best league in the world by far).

Borussia winning their 4th game in a row, beating Stuttgart 2-0 in Stuttgart.

We should*ve scored a couple more goals but will settle for the win and retain 4th place.

Hoping that Dortmund can somehow pull of an upset and beat Bayern at home.
