They can have him. The dude sucks badly. He was mediocre in almost every game he played for Bayern Munich.

I heard he played decent last season in Argentina and a change of scenery might make him the next Roque Santa Cruz but he clearly won't get much PT in Munich because guys like Robben, Ribery, Müller, Kroos are clearly better players.

damn it. we still have only 2 directly qualified Champions League participants. Italy barely held onto their lead.

there's gonna be a next year though :D

Supercup today. Bayern vs. Schalke. Starts 11:45 AM ET.

Should be interesting to see how both teams will play. I fully expect Schalke to win that Cup, though, because basically Munich's starting team returned a few days ago from vacation while Schalke missed only Manuel Neuer until last week. They should be more prepared for a game than Munich today.

Bayern: Kraft - Lahm, Demichelis, Badstuber, Contento - Schweinsteiger, Pranjic - Altintop, Müller, Olic - Klose

Schalke: Neuer - Uchida, Metzelder, Höwedes, Schmitz - Kluge, Rakitic, Matip - Raul - Farfan, Edu

I expect a typical preseason match, much effort but little result. But I would be happy to be wrong.

I so starved for soccer, I would probably watch anything...

Good chance by Schweinsteiger after a Müller solo to start the game.

Bayern deservedly wins 2-0. They dominated Schalke in the first half, and just when S04 played better, Müller and Klose cold heartedly used their chances. Bayern seems set, Schalke still can use those extra days until the first Spieltag.

Bayern can use them as well. They weren't as impressive as they were late last season. :dontknow:

Kraft had some huge saves today. Almost reminded me of Oliver Kahn the way he saved that shot from Edu after a corner kick.

Apparently, Barcelona contacted Mesut Özil now.

Leverkusen looks really good on paper. They could give Bayern Munich a hard run for the championship.

Last thing I read was that Barca and Real are throwing heavy money towards Bremen, but Özil is stalling cause they won't give him a starting spot. Özil wants to go somewhere where he can start from day one. The fact that he's playing hardball with the Spaniards either means that he's got strong nerves or that he got some additional options, most likely Manchester.

--

Leverkusen is a top 3 team this season. Definitely stronger than Wolfsburg, Hamburg, Bremen or Dortmund and probably also better than Schalke. Best of the rest after Munich.

Ballack & Rolfes, when fit, is a top midfield that should be able to compete easily in the Champions League. Kießling, Helmes & Deridjok also should get the job done and they got a bunch of great young talent (Bender, Schwaab, Kaplan, Reinartz!) Their defense kinda sucks (Hypia, M. Friedrich), but I got them ranked right behind the Bayern.

smh, what use do they have for him? Their midfields are already stacked with top talent. Hope he stick around in the Liga.

Yeah. They really have no use for him.

Looks like Diego will definitely return to the Bundesliga from Juventus. Reports here in Germany are that Juve has accepted a 16 mil € offer from Wolfsburg but Schalke 04 is still in the run for him, though.
It would be cool to see him back in the Bundesliga.

btw which players do you look forward watching to the most? I think Toni Kroos will be a real stud for Bayern Munich. He has all the tools to make it in Munich and now that Arjen Robben is injuried he'll get the opportunity to make it there.

agreed on Kroos just for being a Rostocker Jung :D

and Olic. he's my favorite player in the whole league.

kinda weird rooting for two Bayern players when I used to consider myself a Bayern hater.

I look forward to watching Denmark vs. Germany today just because of what Toni Kroos can do today. If he would not play I would not watch the game :P.

This years Germany's U21 has been hailed as stronger than the one which won 4:0 against England. Pretty much everybody has already lots of experience in the Bundesliga or even the senior team...

... and they just managed to loose 4:1 against Iceland and fail the EC qualification. Their manager is probably the biggest moron in professional soccer ever. Seriously, that squad looks so strong on paper it's almost ridiculous and they effing loose 4:1 against Iceland and draw twice against Northern Ireland and Iceland again. Raymond Domenech couldn't have effed up this one better...
