So many bad teams

Where did the last 3 World Cup winners come from?

So the top teams are great, never said that they weren't, but the qualifiers are still a joke. You got teams like Cypress and Israel in there. Every group looks easy for the good team to win it.

Europe qualifiers are a joke but even the weakest European teams are better than some of the mediocre teams in other areas of the world.

a young lad that Leicester recently let go - and who has no club - has scored 10 goals in his first 15 internationals for St Kitts and Nevis.

uefa qualification easily the hardest, only best of the best guaranteed a spot. other regions are either utter crap or half of the teams given a spot.

I say South America is the most difficult.

Personally I would say CONMEBOL is the hardest region to qualify in, and no region just gives spots away.

Don't 1 in 2 teams qualify.

Lol no. England would not make it in CONMEBOL yet they are a lock to win that **** show of a group. Chile is currently in 6th place missing out of the world cup. There is like 3 points separating 1st from 7th. Doesn't matter if half the teams make it, it's harder to qualify. The top teams in Europe could field their b squads in most of these games and still make it

I think too many people overrate European teams...

Especially, after the last Euros when you have garbage teams like ICeland, Poland, Portugal and Wales all in the qfs...

Than, just look at World CUp 2014 and see how many Euro teams in 2016 that made knockout stages actually played in knockoutstages in World cup 2014...

Germany, Croatia, Swizz, France and Belgium. Now, look at the qfs of Euros and see how many made knockout stages in WC.

Belgium, Germany and france.

i slag england off as much as anybody but they are easily better than peru, venezuela, bolivia, paraguay, ecuador and a garbage ocenia team. and that's all they need.

Just ask the English fans, would you rather take your chances in this group that you are in

Or fight for 5 spots with Argentina, Brasil, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, and Ecuador every world cup?

I'd take this **** show group for sure

it is probably the worst group in uefa but even with that not totally bereft of quality. hamsik would be the best player in half conmebol teams.

Come on England would easily qualify in that group.

You people are thinking fantasy football.

No way England gets top 5 in South America. Last time Chile and Uruguay played them, they beat them comfortably and both of those teams are a question mark to make it right now.

Well let's wait until 2018 and see how well the top 5 South American teams do against the top 5 European teams in Russia. I reckon Europe will come out on top.

Seems to me the last time that the WC was in Europe south america got 2 in the last 8 and none in the last 4 - all European. Even in the hot climes of South Africa south American teams only managed 4th position with European teams taking the top 3.

South American teams need home advantage to compete with European teams. Even in Rio it was a 2:2 split in the last 4 and of course Europe won.

It would seem more fair though if the south American teams competed in a qualifying tournament against the rest of the Americas but then teams like Costa Rico, Honduras and USA may not qualify.

concacaf is an abortion of a confederation and should be merged with conmebol but u.s. brings the most money to world cups, fifa cant risk their failure to qualify.
