I honestly think we should keep Courtois and have a talk with Cech, tell him how it is. We've got the future keeper, one of the best in the world, we need to get him into our team or we're going to lose him which is bad long term. Cech can make a decision on what he wants to do, leave to be a starter, or mentor Courtois while playing a part time keeper role. I'd be happy if he chose either, and I think that letting him go would be more fair to him.

I might be fine to do this because I haven't been a Chelsea fan through Cech's long tenure with Chelsea so I'm less emotionally attached to him.

In other news, Kevin De Bruyne gone to Wolfsburg for 18m euros? We made an 11m profit on him playing 2 games which is really good, hope we use some of it on another player.

Don't think we have to tell them both the situation. I'm sure they're fully aware of it. Cech staying is mainly because he's still one of the best in the world, don't get me wrong Cech being arguably Chelsea's best ever GK has something to do with it but Cech is still performing at a world class level. Until Cech actually slows down, which most likely won't be anytime soon since GK's tend to hit their prime around late 20s to early 30s and he's only 31, then I don't see Courtois playing for us in the next couple of years. Just sign him to an extension this summer and keep loaning him out, heck give him a massive pay rise if need be, let him know our intent on making him Cech's successor.

for those who didnt see it... weaintgotnohistory ranked the top 20 chelsea prospects over the last few weeks.

the criteria - players must be under 23 as of the start of this season and made less than 10 starts for 1st team.

1. courtois - goalkeeper - on load at atletico
2. lukaku - striker - on loan at everton
3. piazon - attacking mid - on loan at vitesse
4. van ginkle - defensive mid - with 1st team (injured)
5. kalas - centerback/right back - with 1st team
6. chalobah - defensive mid - on loan with middlesbrough
7. t. hazard - attacking mid - on loan zulte
8. omeru - centerback - on loan with middlesbrough
9. van aanholt - left back - on loan at vitesse
10. traore - attacking mid - on loan at vitesse
11. loftus-cheek - midfield - with u21 team
12. christensen - centerback/rightback - with u21 team
13. atsu - attacking mid - on loan at vitesse
14. ake - defensive mid, left back - with 1st team
15. wallace - right back - on loan with inter milan
16. kane - right back - on loan with blackburn
17. bamford - striker - on loan with derby
18. baker - midfield - with u21 team
19. boga - attacking mid - with u21 team
20. mceacheran - midfield - on loan with watford (for now)

any thoughts on these rankings?

http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/ ... s-for-2014

starting 11 of youngsters looks like (not sure if you start kalas as right back or centerback or christensen at right back or centerback... or go with wallace at right back)

-----------------------courtois
christensen---kalas---omeru---van aarholt
----------------chalobah---van ginkle
traore-----------t. hazard------------piazon
----------------------lukaku

how many of these guys will actually crack the regular starting 11?
which guy is most likely to be sold in the near future?
where does that team of 20 youngsters finish in the league?
which player was overrated?
which player was underrated?

Why is Eden not in the list? Is he not under 23?

Likely: Lukaku and Courtois
Maybe: van Ginkel, Chalobah, PVA
Too early to tell, but looks to have the potential: Traore, RLC, Christensen, Wallace

which guy is most likely to be sold in the near future?

Don't see any of them being sold in near future tbh.

where does that team of 20 youngsters finish in the league?

Courtois
Wallace-Kalas-Omeruo-PVA
Chalobah-van Ginkel
Traore-Hazard-Piazon
Lukaku

Blackman
Kane-Christensen-Ake-Wright
RLC-Baker
Atsu-McEachran-Boga
Bamford

is not bad, and I think they should be able to avoid relegation if Lukaku can stay healthy. Big question mark is obviously the CB positions and the lack of depth in defence, but Courtois is already world class.

which player was overrated?

IMO guys like Piazon, Hazard, Kalas and Omeruo who have had successful loan spells but don't have the highest ceilings. They are certainly the best players from the list right now, but I can't see them making it at Chelsea.

which player was underrated?

I think Christensen, Bamford and McEachran should be higher on the list. I'm a huge fan of Christensen especially. I know Ake's now with the first team to provide cover at LB position, but I think Christensen is a superior prospect at CB. Musonda probably should have made the list over guys like Atsu who will never make it here.

It's nice that someone's been streaming ChelseaTV 24/7 for years haha

Bamford, RLC, Christensen and Wallace should be higher. Would personally rate Christensen higher than Omeruo.

Hazard should be lower, don't think he'll ever be as good as Eden and because of that don't think he'll make it.

Not really. Don't think Jose ever rated De Bruyne (or even Mata).

Sometimes I don't agree with the decisions, but I love how fast our board wraps up a deal. It usually takes a day or two after the first report of interest. Aside from Willian hijacking, my favorite one is the Meireles transfer. It went from "Oh, he's joining us?" to "Oh, he already did" really quickly.

thoughts on salah? we sure do love to buy players who kick out tail in the champions league.

super fast, left-footed inverted winger, good dribbler, good finisher, willing defender, lacks strength, 1st touch sometimes gives him problems, not an aerial threat. seems to fit what jose is trying to do. did i miss anything?

if i was a chelsea attacking player on loan, i'd probably be a little annoyed at this news.

I think he rated their offensive capabilities, especially Mata. I don't think anybody could deny his talents, they just didn't fit in his system, so they had to go

Like him, pretty much gave a perfect description of him and why Mourinho brought him in. If I was Piazon/Atsu or Moses, I'd be rather annoyed, but I think this signals that one of them is definitely leaving for good in the summer (preferably Moses). Considering the deal, I think this is a very low risk one, I just hope he doesn't end up like Assaidi or something like that. Definitely has the talent

agreed. it's sad to see him go, and unfortunate that injuries derailed his career. my favourite chelsea player to watch when he was on his game.

Something as simple as the pass at 3:55 is what we've been missing for so long.

He said in his first interview with ChelseaTV that his strength is that he is tall, and he wasn't kidding lol. His reach is incredible.
