I didn't know that Japan's goalkeeper plays in the Japanese 2nd division. The penalty that Germany got was clearly the goalkeeper's fault, but the sequence that starts at 02:10 was absolutely incredible.

So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Suppose a team has used all its subs. Later a player gets injured and can't continue. Can that team still put in a sub for the injured player or must it go on down a man/woman?

No further subs are allowed.

They'd be playing with a man less.

In rugby, you can do what you describe.

Netherlands are so disappointing. 2 shots all game with that amount of talent? Or Ecuador is just that good?

Tired of hearing brits saying that we've never beaten USA in the world Cup. Have we ever beaten North Korea in the world cup? Doesn't mean we shouldn't stuff them. Don't be so pathetic, the shame is on you if you lose.

I know the MLS allows a concussion sub, that gives the opponents an extra sub as well, and, if I'm not mistaken the EPL did the same.

It's going to be interesting to see if that ends up being adopted internationally as well

25 mins in and I’ve heard Mason Mount mentioned once lol and it was for a foul, I was really hoping Maddison would be fit.
