Especially when we're discussing a match up between Bayern & an even more globally-reknowned club, from a historically stronger league that's no longer at it's previous heights. Juventus' larger international fanbase, name recognition, recent run to the final, and Bayern's injury crisis at CB...as well as the general misconceptions about the Bundesliga's quality amongst many casual fans...couldn't possibly have contributed to the bookies giving out such even odds, could it have?

Nevermind that head to head odds with Bayern mid injury crisis doesn't tell us that much about what the odds would be on them triumphing over Juve in a league context. Where the ability to dominate the rest of the league would take precedence & were Bayern would loom even larger.

Idk what everyone's talking about...too much to read first thing in the morning, but Juve had just as many injury problems between the two legs if not more

I know you guys were devastated for the second leg. But who was missing before the tie other than Marchisio? Bayern was down to Alaba n Kimmich at CB when the draw happened n initial odds were set.

Only Chiellini for the first leg

I can not believe you just listed Hector as a big star.

Even Sane...the dude is more a project than a star.
Yeah, his absolute ceiling is a world class player. But he could also turn out to be the next Schürrle or Draxler and stagnate in his development. If you can sell him for 50 mil. € these days it's hell of a smart business decision and will help your club grow.

Maybe not a star, but he will probably be the starting LB for Germany at the Euros so it's just a matter of time before he really becomes a household name in Germany.

FBs rarely become stars and if they do they are either world class (Lahm, Alaba) or very good offensive players (Rodriguez).
Hector fits in neither category.

Decent FB without much upside. That's it. Not more, not less. He doesn't have any star potential and it won't have any influence on the league at all if he is sold to Liverpool. And Köln will get enough money to compensate the loss with a lesser known player who can deliver the same skills.

Simple as that, really.

Hector's no better than Schmelzer, certainly not now that Tuchel's working with him. Gerhardt of the u21s is much better than either of them at LB and deserves to go to the Euros. And based solely on club play, Bauer/Plattenhart/Durm would be just as worthy of that spot as Hector. With the likes of Aykol, Karakas, Mittelstadt, and the Itter brother who plays on the left; it's unlikely that Hector establishes himself as a long term starter for us for any reason other than Jogi's incompetence.

That's what I thought, though I wasn't sure if I was misremembering. I think given the injury situations leading into the match/at the time of the draw; it's fair to assume that the bookies placed more weight on Bayern's injury problems than Juve's.

Dortmund is about to get some front and center televised games these next couple of weeks! Vs. Werder Bremen tomorrow on big Fox, and against Schalke in Germany's biggest derby on FS1 next weekend.

It looks like Fox will be going with the versatile schedule the rest of the way, because I only see the TV schedule through next week. They seem to be setting it up on a week to week basis. Pretty smart.

Well, Xhaka told Express that those rumors about talks between his camp and Wenger aren't true.
Though, he also said that he would listen to offers and then talk to the club about it.

Anyways, I still think he'll go to the EPL this summer(Arsenal or Liverpool) and we'll have a nice amount of money to work with.

BTW: Eberl just told reporters that Dahoud won't go anywhere(an extension's more likely IMO) and that Christensen will be with us for at least another season as well.

Also, Jonas Hector is not a "star".
The guy's a liability on defense for teams playing offensive minded and profits from Cologne's defensive(sitting deep) style of play.
Why the heck Liverpool would want him(given that they're not happy with Moreno because of his shortcomings on defense) is just very strange to me and seems like really bad scouting.

An EPL team sucking at scouting? Crazy talk...

Hector is just lucky the other players at his position are so weak. There's nothing special about this guy.

Schalke are dreadful.

Will be a tough job for Favre and Heidel.

Heidel already said he doesn't want an easy job. That's why he chose Schalke lol.

They got quite a few cancers in their team. Too many players who got paid and seem to lack motivation.

First thing that needs to be done is throw these players out. Huntelaar, Di Santo, Sam, Neustädter, Choupo-Moting, Aogo, Höger...I'd try to get rid of all of them just to cut the enormous budget. And their production is easily replaceable with free transfers.

I'm not a fan of Adrian Ramos, but he just scored a massively clutch goal to keep the title race on.

i'd say this is a similar situation to when neuer came to bayern. nobody doubts his talent, but there is some history. and as with bayern, give it time. i for one would welcome götze back, if it were to happen.

spectacular finish yesterday. as with augsburg, they pulled it off late. they are that good and that confident, but this shouldn't be a regular thing. and of course they can't allow this against pool.

edit: best season in club history and probably wont be champion. smh, those bayern.
too many urkels on your team, that's why your wins low

You should've beaten them in Dortmund. But Tuchel bottled it and played for a draw. That was your chance.

The talent is there with Götze, and it can of course be salvaged, but the bridges have been burned to the ground. I'll still never forget the heartbreak I felt when I found out he was leaving for Bayern (I thought it was a joke when my friend told me).

I'm not gonna welcome him back with open arms. If he comes back I'll tolerate him, but nothing will be close to the same as before he left.

Tuchel's one of the best coaches on the planet, if not the best; but he was overly cautious against Bayern in that last meeting.
