Arsenal will never win the CL(at least not with Wenger).
To win the CL, you actually need to beat at least one big team.
European titles >>> Domestic titles bruh.

Full list of Chelsea players released:

Surprised that Schwarzer wasn't given a new contract, hope Lampard gets a new one year deal would really find it difficult seeing him in another shirt now.

I wouldn't mind Schwarzer back, but I always prefer having homegrown player at backup GK position.

Indeed. Chelsea really understands the new rules of FFP. It'll be a great team next year with a good striker. Finally.

Don't really have anyone that fits that description though.
Blackman? Get him some competitive games first.
Well done for getting £50 million for Luiz though, but him and Thiago Silva can be a scary to go up against.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
Doesn't have to be Blackman. I think we made bids for Ruddy and Butland last couple of years, and I wouldn't be surprised if we go for an English keeper again, especially if Cech goes. He should still command more than enough fee to buy a backup.

All 123 goals scored by our loanees this season: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bPMLnn ... e=youtu.be
Would be nice if Bamford stay to be our third striker next season. More excited about him than Lukaku the way you get fascinated by the mysterious second round pick.

Lampard looks to be on his way to NY, sad to see him go and I really hope he comes back in the future. Absolute legend and that word gets thrown around a lot, my favourite Chelsea player ever.

Personally, I despise Lampard, mainly because of his drunken comments about 9/11 to american tourists the day it happened, but he is Chelsea LEGEND. Was shocked to see him leave.
Ironic he plays for NYCFC now haha.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
Who would have thought we would hire Benitez, bring back Mourinho and Matic, sell Mata and Luiz, lose Lamps, Cole (and Cech?), and maybe even buy Fabregas in just over 12 months? Even for Chelsea, this has been an unpredictable period, and the only constant has of course been Torres.
Anyway, what a Chelsea career for Lamps. Won everything, broke all kinds of records. He will be missed

If you trade Luiz for Cesc, and make £20M net, I'll be seriously jealous

It's quite crazy when pulled together collectively (and suprising on an individual level, too).
I'm actually quite re-assured by Mourinho's policy though... only because it mirrors my (FM-style) own one. Sell good but not vital players if you get a big offer (Luiz, Mata), clear out older guys when it is clear their young replacement is almost as good (Cole / Azpi, Cech / Courtois)... and only buy players who will last 5+ years.
I like it. Although it is all just slightly crazy and unexpected.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Costa deal looks to be done any day now after he passed his medical, fantastic signing.

I really hope he pans out and it doesn't end up being a Torres-esque flop. As least he's not that expensive...
I'm quite curious as to who will make up the next round of ins/outs. Net income of £10-18m so far (Depending on the Luiz figures) with some serious wage bill departures in Lampard, Cole, Eto'o.

Costa and Fabregas will be massive for us. It's crazy to me that Fabregas is still only 27. He's been good for so long I could have swore he was 30 or 31 by now. Costa's physicality will be put to good use in the EPL. It's a physical league which is why I thought Hulk would do well for us as well.
Courtois coming back is looking likely now as well. He has the talent to be the best keeper in the world soon.

Don't count on it, we thought you couldn't get worse than Shevchenko....
But I am very optimistic about Costa, does have the physicality to succeed here.

Costa is going to look so good getting fed from our attacking ban and deep from Cesc.
