Chelsea FC ‏@chelseafc 26m

We are expecting a 4-2-3-1 formation tonight with Matic and Van Ginkel holding and Fabregas in the no.10 role behind the striker. #CFC

you watching 5dom? is this the case?

I think Fabregas is playing a little deeper than that, but my stream's not HD.

Not been that bad for Vitesse. We basically play the worst possible playing style against a team like Chelsea, we were always going to give away some open chances. Have taken a decent amount of shots. We are missing a bunch of players as well (Striker, Right Winger, Left Back) and there's no way Room (GK) should be playing over Velthuizen.

Traore is so inconsistant. Not sure there's a place in the team once the starters come back, I prefer Vako over Traore. Wallace is solid, think he'll start most games.

I thought Leerdam would start at RB, but he seems to be everywhere in this game?

His original position is actually CM/CDM, but was forced to play RB for Feyenoord and Vitesse because he's pretty good at it and he was needed at that position. We're testing him out at CM and he might actually start there in midfield alongside Vejinovic and Propper (CAM).

That too, makes it harder for Traore to get into the starting lineup unless we sell Renato Ibarra. There's no way Propper and Vejinovic don't start.

Don't know why Chelseas TV commentators expected Vitesse to be Barcelona.

I think they just wanted more intensity. The Slovenian team we faced on Sunday was tackling like crazy.

I guess so, but the Eredivisie is really not about that. If you want that kind of intensity, you don't play against a dutch team which is more about technique and finesse. Vitesse did create quite a few scoring opportunities, scored 1, hit the post once and got close quite a few times in the first half. I mean, Chelsea were tested.

I'm probably the only guy who's actually bothered by it though haha, as a Vitesse fan, just disliked the Chelsea commentators being so negative and uninformed about the team they were facing, but that is to be expected in a preseason game against a foreign opponent. I should stop talking about Vitesse in the Chelsea thread, although I might stop by to give some updates on the loanees every once in a while.

Any news/update would be welcome :) The commentators on the club-owned channel are kinda expected to be biased and not as informed about other clubs. I'm pretty sure they didn't mean any offence.

It's cool, I'm sure most of us here would like to see how our loanees are doing :D

Basically, please don't leave

Also, was Costa awesome today or what? Loved his performance, direct and very unselfish.

Great bit of business there, get a better player and a more complete striker for Mourinho's system. Win-win for us definitely
