People realize that Jupp's treble winning bayern kept possession justas much as Pep's bayern, right? And that this is the style the legends of the golden era played for them when they won the european cup on back-to-back-to-back occassions?

Any way Mainz not underserved leaders at half time, but Gladbach have been growing into the match since that rough opening 10-15 minutes.

EDIT: Hazard has to score there. Beautiful pass from Xhaka.

Absolutely terrible game by us.

Not enough movement and pace to create chances and that lead by Mainz isn't undeserved after they hit the post twice before.
Though, that Hazard goal was onside and he's certainly allowed to score being alone in front of Karius a couple seconds before the end of the half. :nonono:

Yeah, I didn't see the offsides on the goal that got called back, but today's possession is a big step forward from the first game or the cup match against Pauli...at least the first half of that cup match.

It's actually not cause we hardly create anything, don't have enough movement at all(and Raffael's losing every possession) and are giving away chances at ease to Mainz.
Xhaka/Stindl isn't really working so far and it will be interesting to see if we can get anything from this game.

Its too easy for him with an above average quality team.

I admittedly had some doubts about if it would be too much pressure for him to fill Klopp's massive boots, but his pressing tactics are absolutely perfect for this team.

The players are also working harder now after coming back down to earth with a humbling season last year. The great Klopp teams always worked harder than anyone else, but after a few years of success they stopped working as much and started resting on their laurels.

Nicely worked equalizer, this is looking more like last season's possession game.

Of course we're losing this one.

We're just as good missing out on chances offensively and are pretty wild on the defensive end.
Next week we'll be in Bremen at the battle of the desperate...

Heard that Meyer and Höjbjerg might transfer to Leverkusen as well. And found another video where they make fun of the Bundesliga :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Est-FBvzxpA&index=5&list=PL3uJGozO1imdggKAn6D7gJcm2jxeAlAp_

Seems like we are getting Toivonen or Szalai. I'd prefer Hrgota over both of them, though. :dontknow:

Hertha just got Niklas Stark from Nürnberg. Very good deal for them.

I like Stark a lot. The kid has NT potential as a 6.

Yeah, great deal for Hertha. Preetz is actually having a solid summer, IMO.

BTW: I guess Hrgota will stay for now even though we've been linked to some striker from Stabaek.
We're also said to be interested in 17 year old midfielder Kristoffer Ajer of IK Start Kristiansand.
Deal would include him being signed and parked in Norway till the end of the season(end of November).

Also, nice interview with Favre from 11Freunde(though, it's in german).

I still have no clue where Preetz expects the goals to come from, but Stocker, Darida and Stark are all guys I really like. I still think Weiser should be developed as a RB, but that Hertha midfield should be pretty solid even if he has to play on the RW for them. If things had worked out with Mukhtar that midfield could be very interesting, as I do feel like they really lack a brilliant creative prospect/young-player a la Meyer, Malli/Pflucke, Stendera, Oztunali, Hazard. But the squad should have the talent to stay comfortably clear of the relegation zone if they are fit and injuries do not kill them.

It's not about keeping possession, it's the difference between the playstyle once they already have the ball.
Jupp's Bayern played LINEAR football with straight forward passes in HIGH TEMPO.

This Bayern is more similar to Pep's Barcelona with short passing trying to slowly carve up the defence a'la tiki-taka.

I mean you guys can't be serious if you're saying Jupp's and Pep's Bayern playstyles are similar.

/e - Don't get me wrong, this Bayern is still very very good, but a lot less efficient in its whole and not because of personnel, but because of their approach.

Seems like Tuchel has already detected Schmelzer being terrible and now wants Joo-Ho Park.

I hope we dont sell him.

If Wolfsburg really lose de Bruyne to City they should immediately reinvest part of that money in Tielemans and Praet.
