if they lose the third place match vs Netherlands then that would set up the worst nightmare... Argentina winning the cup on Brazilian soil at the Maracana. IDK how Argentina will escape out of Brazil cause Brazilians will be mad, you will see some "Savages" out there lol JK but seriously it could dangerous

Jesus Christ man, give it a rest, you're on the verge of embarrassing yourself more than the guy who said offsides should be taken out of the game. Stop making yourself look like a moron. I'm trying to help you...

On topic: where is everyone watching the game? Was thinking of going to downtown Philly to watch at one of the big football bars but I may go to a friend's party. Part of me wants to just watch alone and savor the game but its unlikely I will do that.

What team is that? The USMNT? Trinidad not being in the World Cup? Dortmund's woes? The Revs imminent downfall? Because yes,I'm bitter about all of that sans the USMNT losing to Belgium. But that has nothing to do with you saying stupid, ignorant things about "rioting" in Brazil does it?

I could care less about Brazil, man, thanks for proving my previous point by pretending to know who I support, lmao. Just stop

People assume the 3rd Place game is going to be terrible, but I expect Brazil to play to win and for pride.

Going to be at a family party so going to have to watch this game there. Already know a few people there who act like they know everything about soccer, but only watch the world cup every 4 years. It'll be fun..

Argentina is going to have to have a strong defensive game in this one

What's up with all the Germany/Spurs comparison? I just heard Stein make that comparison on ESPN.

Did one stupid person say that and then it caught on amongst casual fans or something?

Actual football fans should find that comparison to be extremely inaccurate. Can someone here (pref. a Germany supporter) think of a better NBA team to compare them to?

I don't think you should compare soccer teams to basketball teams in the first place.

But yeah, that Spurs comparison is pretty ridiculous.

the only reason, that everyone makes that comparison is, because, like the spurs, there isn't one great player but more so a team of great individual players unlike with brazil, portugal and argentina.

dont think any comparison is fair though, because one player has a way bigger impact in basketball than he does in football.
too many urkels on your team, that's why your wins low

But that was not true for the Spurs and is not true for Germany. Both have a couple of great players (Duncan, Scheinsteiger, Parker, Hummels, Manu, Neuer, Lahm, Müller,...). But both have in common that their play is more about teamwork and not so much about the individual. It is not necessary, that everytime the same individual has to shine. So I can see where the comparison is from.

On the other hand, Argentina has no chance. Because the one and only David "THE HOFF" Hasselhoff decided to support Germany. GAME OVER! We will always love him.
