Last time a fanbase tried to "invade" istanbul they went home with 2 corpses, certainly not a wise move

First big surprise in CL qualification.
Rapid Vienna eliminates Ajax Amsterdam thanks to a 3-2(5-4 on agg.) win at Amsterdam Arena.
Also, Monaco easily beat Young Boys Bern 7-1 on agg.

Both teams are part of the League Route and will be unseeded facing the likes of Manchester United, Bayer Leverkusen, FC Valencia or Sporting Lisbon.
Lazio's position, right now, is still not sure as they'd need another lower seeded team of the 3rd round qualifying for the playoffs, if they want to be seeded as well.

In the Champions Route both Appoel Nikosia and Dinamo Zagreb made it to the final stage of qualifying.

England could lose a CL spot. Would actually make the league even more interesting if they only were 3 CL places.
Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Toni Kroos, Pep Guardiola, Ernst Happel, Joachim Löw.

5.334 pts is a lot though. Even during last season's great success in europe Serie A only made up 3.143 pts on the BuLi. For reference the BuLi beat Italy by 3.512 pts in 12/13 and by 3.893 pts in 11/12; Germany narrowly outdoing italy by 0.548 pts in 13/14. Serie A would have to do even better than last year while the Buli did even worse, and by a significant margin, for that to actually be possible. If Bayern are in the semifinals yet again, and 1-2 of Leverkusen, Gladbach, or Wolfsburg get out of their groups in the CL it becomes all but impossible without all italian finals in both competitions, with the other 2 clubs losing in the semifinals.

If the EPL **** the bed again and Serie A has another amazing season, then they could pass england, as they made up 5.429 pts on the EPL last season. But even that is highly unlikely.

meh dortmund isn't around this season, i dont see any of the german teams sans bayern getting 12 points in group stages like dortmund did. in fact one of wolfburg or bmg probably stumbles out in group stages due to inexperience. italy got plus 3.14 with napoli bouncing out before cl, assuming lazio makes it in that 5.33 is easily attainable.

Fiorentina lost a lot of key players so I dont think they can make a deep run in the EL again and who knows with napoli. Roma and Lazio are r16 at best. Juve will probably be at least QF or Semi.

I think england will at least match italy this year in european results. Then starting next year after even more investment due to the TV deal I think the EPL coefficient will begin to pull away. Man the EL kills england though , other countries flourish off that and england teams don't take it serious. Italy's 2 semifinal teams made a good difference last year

italy always have some team making a run in europa, if it is not fiore i am sure somebody will pick up the slack. serie a still has a great deal of room to improve, wasnt even that great last year. they'll have more points than last year if just they just put 3 teams in group stages and 2 teams in second round even if juve bounces out in semis or qf. lazio passing the qualification or roma making the second round is more likely than germany putting 4 teams in second round again or non-bayern teams going further or english teams ever doing anything in europa league.

although i dont think italy will pass england for a long term until milans get their sh*t together. maybe for a year or two.

I think the excuse of mot taking it seriously for the EPL is lame. There A CL spot on the line now and they still don't perform. I think the teams just aren't that good

I'd be really surprised if Lazio or Roma do anything though

lot of epl teams built for the league, they struggle in cups unless they have coach that can exploit opponent weakness like mourinho or benitez.

Great point, I'm just tired of hearing the "don't care" excuse. Yours is a more logical explanation

Down goes ajax,

They should ahve never player agaisnt a team like Rapid Wien.

I absolutley loathe the Champions route and non champions route B.S

What for? to get some underservin Azerbajan or Cyprus team on teh group stage leaving out stronger league ( belgium, turkey, greece, portugal, hollan sometimes even spain, italy or england if a horrible match up happens, for exmplae we could have arenal vs Valencia in the playoff) teams.

in the end there are only 4 teams that can REALLY win this, Barcelon, Rm, Bayern and Chelsea and then another 4 that could do it if they get lucky with the match ups and have a nice day or two in the semis or the final, Atm, City, Juve, psg

3 teams that can win it , chelsea are part of that 2nd group. take city out the 2nd group and I agree with that too

chelsea won not so long ago.
they may be a bit behind the other three but they surely are over the second tier.

lets call them 1.5 tier.
