is this finally the loan that brings out the best his mceachran? i've pretty much given up on ever seeing him with the chelsea 1st team, but i am still rooting hard for him to find a team where he can thrive. he's so much fun to watch.

Davy Pröpper plays there and he is a key player for us. Doubt he has a shot there. I'm having a hard time seeing him really fit in the starting XI right now, midfield seems set with Vejinovic-Leerdam-Pröpper. Maybe he sees playing time if we don't get any good results in the next few matches, but the midfield has not been the problem, only the finishing really.

Im going to have to read that article after dinner, but is he a good defender?

Nope. His only above-average skills are his passing (which is outstanding) and ball-control (which could be better if he could learn to use both feet). I imagine he will split his time between CM and DM, but he could be useful against Eredivise defence because of his passing. Strikers to need to finish though.

You're right, tbh I don't think he'll be starting anytime soon. If he gets PT it would probably on Leerdam's position, but we need his defense to cover up for Wallace sometimes.

Finishing has been absolutely terrible, has cost us points in both games. We are waiting for the new striker Abiola Dauda who is out with an injury and should be availabe soon. This would make it even harder for McEachran to get playing time because it moves Qazaishvili back to midfield, and his preferred position is CAM, so he'll probably back up Propper.

No chance on the wings. It's a bit of a puzzling signing if he really expected a lot of playing time, he'll be on the bench most likely unless he really stands out.

I honestly believe we are going to finish top of the table. It's not just the in-prime additions. It's that I think our younger guys are primed to take big steps forward. Our #9 depth isn't great if Costa goes down, and I still feel like our D has question marks in terms of talent, but Mourinho's mind helps make up for some of that. Put simply, if we stay healthy, gel quickly and Costa adapts to the EPL nicely... :eek:

The Bridge is going to be an especially wonderful place to be this year for anybody lucky enough to be there.

Pleased with our first win, relatively comfortable and the new signings (Fabregas and Costa) were impressive.

I am very optimistic this season.

Regarding the Cech situation, I think if he doesn't start the next couple of games, he will be sold. I can't see teams that have been reportedly interested, not making a bid now they know he's not #1.

Not getting carried away because after all it's only Burnley, but there were encouraging signs. One was that we didn't have to rely on Hazard to create everything. One mazy run was all we needed.

Good game guys, really enjoyed the first half.

McEachran update, he sees himself as a number 6, but can play other positions depending on what the coach wants. Says he watched Vitesse's first 2 game and liked what he saw. Says he first wants to train a lot and get familiar with the system before he really worries about where and how much he is going to play.

Only Traore plaing today (match begins in 10 minutes @PEC Zwolle). Wallace has a minor injury and is replaced by a player from our own youth, Kevin Diks (yep that's his name). Wallace should be fine for next game I'm pretty sure.

Traore subbed off in the 27th minute. It's probably not an inury that will keep him out for a major time period but this guy is a serious injury risk it seems.

Vitesse had been by far the better side in the first 60 minutes. They get 1 fluky free kick goal against them and the momentum completely switched. I think the stats after the first half was 59% possesion for Vitesse and 7 shots on target compared to 2 from Zwolle.

I'm not being biased when I say that, based on the balance of play, Vitesse deserves at least 4 points, but because the team is so mentally fragile and we lack any kind of effectiveness in front of goal we keep giving games away.

Bosz should not get sacked, he has done very well. The players just always manage to **** it up.
