If they do hire Amorim, that means United might switch to a 3-4-2-1 formation. Can Rashford, Amad, and Garnacho play wing back? And if they can't are Dalot, Mazraoui, Malacia, and Shaw the right fit for wing back? I feel we don't have the right personnel for this formation, but what do I know.

Garnacho can play in the spot Francisco Trincao currently plays in Sporting Clube de Portugal.

Don't worry Ruben will adapt. I'm very sad today cause Ruben was by far the best coach I've ever seen in Sporting (been watching since late 90s). He grew a lot in here too.

Don't worry, give him two years and he'll get the most out of the players he has.

I was hoping United would hire someone else. Hope United doesn't take some of our best players in the winter.

My foreign club is United but man this hurts a bit for sure.

Good luck to Ruben and United. They will rise soon. He's the right man for the job.
I bet we poach 2 or 3 in the summer. Hoping he is the one to get over the hill. We will get a good taste this year.

Our football director Hugo Viana is going to Manchester City. I don't think it's a given United will get the good players easily.

The main star, Gyokeres, has a very good relationship with Amorim tough. If he leaves to one of the clubs I'd bet on United.

I'd also bet on Amorim wanting Quenda to join United and possibly captain Hjumland (defensive midfielder). For the rest Idk. Geny is the other winger available but Idk if Amorim wants to take him with him, despite being very similar to Quenda. Nuno Santos is too old and is injured right now, so I don't see him leaving for either club.

Maybe the central defenders will be a target too. My favorite is Diamonde, he is very strong and fast. Inacio is not so good on defense but he's a tremendous passer and plays the ball forward very well. Zeno De Bast is very similar to Inacio, but just arrived at the club.

I'm excited but Amorim needs to stick to his tactics. Even if the team struggles. I was excited for Ten Hag when the team hired him, but he went away from the tactics he used at Ajax. I know it can be blamed on not having the right players, but he had the transfer funds to used. I don't want to see another manager try to change his tactics for the players. The players need to adjust to the manager's tactics, and if they don't sale them and buy the correct players that will.

I think he will stick to them. Man United has some players that can work under his system, and he is a believer in what he does.

I also expect United starters to be completely renewed in a year and a half. Maybe 3 or 4 guys at most.

And if someone can turn Rashford into something it's him. I was a non believer in Trincao because his lack of intensity. Well, he brings it every night now. If Rashford doesn't do well under Amorim he'll never do well under any coach.

Can't see that happening.

The summer transfer window begins mid-June and will close on August 15, the day before the start of the 2025/26 season. What you are hoping would require Manchester United to complete more than one transfer a week.

Honest take as a guy who follows both teams...

I think Amorim will keep these guys in United:
Onana (solid GK)
Mainoo
Bruno Fernandes
Amad
Ugarte
Hojlund
Dalot
Malacia
Garnacho (has to show he can learn and evolve, otherwise Amorim will stop counting on him)

The ones he'll bring from Sporting... Maybe if he can, Gyokeres and Trincao. He likes both a lot. But they will be expensive. I know he likes Quenda a lot, but 60 million is a lot of money... Quenda is good but I feel with 20 million you can find someone who does the job decently.

United are certainly going a left winger. Idk who since the ones who played most in Sporting are Nuno Santos (injured and too old for United), Quenda (very expensive) and Geny (I wonder how much Sporting would ask for him). Might not come from Sporting at all.

The other players.... the problem is that they dropped their value so much Idk if United can sell em or if they want to lose a ton of money but letting em go for nothing.

I was very surprised he used Rashford as a center forward. Let's see if he wants to keep him in there but I'll say Rashford looks nothing like the forwards he used to look for.

This past summer we finally saw a new United in the transfer window. The past we couldnt work on more than one player at a time. Now we are doing several. I think you under estimate them. We had like 20 people going out last summer including the nobodys and like 8 coming in. It is possible. 18 first team members, I laugh as well but i could see at least half of that.

Saw him there in the training. I think its the last spot for Rashford to try, if it doesnt work out, they will cash in on him.

After scoring goal Rashford disappeared and showed zero effort and desire to play. There was couple instances where he could have sprinted towards through ball and he just gave up and did not even try. I feel he hates playing anywhere but left wing and since that is best position for Garnacho I do not believe Rashford will be with Man U long term.

Curious, what has he actually done since beginning July 1?

Was it his idea to...
- keep Ten Hag?
- give Ten Hag another 200M?
- fire Ten Hag?
- hire Amorim?

From what I've read, it sounds as if he felt his voice wasn't heard.

I think him and Omar werent on the same page and he wasnt an Omar guy. Just like with U.S. sports. The GM picks his team....kind of....Omar now gets to pick his guy.

I am hoping United get a jump start to the January window and then finish off in the summer. Not realistic but hopeful.

Rashford to PSG.....Wipe Ugarte off books
Casemiro to Saudi
Lindelof to Italy
Erikson to Ajax

Buyback Fernandez at LWB
Sign Davies on a free for the summer at LWB

Then in the Summer......

Sell or Leave
Dalot
Antony
Zirksee
Bayandir
Malacia
McGuire

Sign
Gyokeres ST
Goncalves CAM
Demfries RWB
Brainthewaite CB
Backup CM
Backup Goalkeeper

ST: Gyokeres and Hoijlund
CAM: Goncalves, Mount, Bruno, Garnacho, Amad
MID: Ugarte, Mainoo, Collyer and new guy
WB: Davies, Dumfries. Mazrouri, Ferandez
CB: Shaw, Martinez, De Ligt, Yoro, Brainthewaite
G: Onana and new guy

Hell of a good team for 2 windows to kick start a new era. Expensive but worth it.

I'm starting to get very concerned that INEOS has no clue what they're doing.

at minimum, they need sell 2 and bring in 2 for Amorim. LWB being the biggest hole.

Dalot hurts my eyes.

Based on some of the cost cutting INEOS has made, United must be hemorrhaging money, otherwise, how do you explain ending charity funding (40K annually) for former players.
