Regardless, Salah and Firmino are amazing. Mane is in a funk but I still believe. I'm even starting to believe in the back 4. Maybe even Karius. The midfield? Not so much.

Coutinho's versatility (play on the wing and in the midfield) makes it hard to replace. Klopp likely has a list of one and will wait until that player can be signed. Who that is, I am unsure.

Karius' play has been better the last couple of matches. Good to see Klopp ceased his GK rotation. I like the rumors swirling on Roma's Alisson.

I am in complete agreement over the midfield. Keïta will help but another needs to be brought in. If so, will he be a DM? Much depends on whether Can stays or goes, though Gerrard may have slipped in saying Can will leave.

I think teams saw the $$ we got, and know how deep our pockets are right now. I think Klopp was smart to wait. It wasn't like there was "that guy" we passed on. We'll just have to wait till the offseason.

I'm not as sold on our D as you guys....but it does seem to be better these days, I'll concede that. Still don't think it's worthy of a title winning team. We're doing alot of things right. Let's see if we can take that final step this offseason, and actually grab a title.

I think it's a matter of time before Salah get's the call from either Madrid or Barca. We really aughta 'go for broke' this offseason.

Rumors are that Liverpool is in for Allison and Jorginho. That would be a massive improvement on defense if they can pull it off and let Keita be the box to box guy. The only hole in starting XI would be attacking mid. I do worry about back up for Mane and Salah. I guess Firmino too.

Karius continues to play well but his ceiling isn't world class. That goal by West Ham was from distance, not hit hard and he saw it all the way. A top level goalkeeper stops that.

Could that AM be Christian Pulisic? His natural position will eventually be in that #10. Could he be Klopp's new Gotze?

We almost never get our first targets in but Alisson and Jorginho turn two of our weakest positions into our strongest overnight. We always have issues with teams parking the bus against us. These two along with Keita and Van Dijk really help in that regard.

Pulisic would be a good fit because he can play as a winger in Klopp's system too. Liverpool could use back ups for Salah and Mane. He really checks all the boxes for them.

With all of this said, Pulisic, Allison and Jorginho would be like hitting grand slams three times in a row. I would be happy if Liverpool got one of them. The combined cost of all three might be 200m pounds. Even with the Coutinho money, I think FSG would have trouble floating that.

Good game the other day. Salah is a beast. Alot of guys are playing really good.

Karius looking like the guy we were sold on. I think it's fair to say this season is a wrap already...but let's see if we can't improve on a couple areas....and go get our first EPL title! I know...alot of time between then and now, but I think we are right there, team-wise.

Been hard on Klopp. He's done really well...I will admit. Gotta, gotta, gotta beat the Evertons, the WBA's the Swansea's. 9 Draws this season. Essentially an entire THIRD of our season. I'll live with a 1-1 tie against Chelsea, and I know your gonna have a hiccup or two along the way....but a third of your season?

Let's see if we can't improve this next year.

And please, for the love of God.....tell Madrid to go get knotted, if they ask about Salah.

Rumors are that Salah already told them no. He is loved at Liverpool and had such a bad experience at Chelsea that he doesn't want to do that again. He will get a huge raise this summer and hopefully be a Liverpool player for the next 4-5 years.

Our issues have always been lack of control in mdfield and having nervous CB's. We've gotten one of those issues taken care of with VvD looking like a colossus. Natural leader. Insert Naby Keita and Jorginho in next year and maybe Alisson(one of the better GK's in the World) and a lot of those draws turn into easy win's.

Hope your right. Watching your best players get plucked away ever couple years starts to get old.

Man-City is having one of those years. Nobody's gonna catch them, and you could turn half our ties into wins, and we'd still be 9-10 points behind. But I think on a normal season, if we can correct the midfield like you say, (I'd still like another top-notch defender as well) we'd be right there in the thick of things. This team (with about 4-5 less draws) would be neck and neck on most years. About all you can ask for. It's been ours to lose a couple times, and we fell flat. We're due a good run at the end, to seal the deal. We just need Man-City to come back down to earth.

Pretty hard to beat a team with 1 loss on the season. What are they?? Like a +65 goal diff??...just crazy.

Well, I hope the report I read was correct.

One thing I disagree with on people is that players like Salah having a price. Regardless of how much money Liverpool gets for a player, there is no guarantee that they could use that money to replace that guy. Coutinho for example. There are only a handful of players in the world who are guaranteed to be able to replace him. None of them would agree to come to Liverpool. As such, that 140m is going to go to lesser players that you *hope* could blossom into a Coutinho replacement.

Like with the Suarez money, it may end up getting flushed down the toilet.

At the end of the day, once you have a top player, you better keep him.

Yes, I know Liverpool just bought Salah but there is no guarantee they could do it again. The next time the guy might turn into Markovic 2.0. The best way to have a Mo Salah type player is to have Mo Salah.

While I agree a million percent...I don't know that it's always that easy. In Coutinho's case, it was clear he no longer wanted to be here. You can't "handcuff" your players to the bed-post. At some point you see that the player no longer wants to bleed for your team, and if you get a good offer.....your kinda stuck.

We coulda kept Coutinho....but I think it would have gotten ugly had we not shipped him off after the season. I think we got good $$$ for him, given the reality we faced.

I don't disagree with that. I just want Liverpool to take the Tottenham approach and go down kicking and screaming. They handled Coutinho about as good as they could.

My post was more about the random fans who pipe in "140m for coutinho, that's way too much. Liverpool can easily buy a replacement." No, really, it isn't and no, they can't.

True we didn't replace Coutinho. The club's made massive profits this season in the transfers. FSG happy. But to be honest, we haven't missed Coutinho as much as we were worried we would. But again, we didn't strengthen the position. Ya, we won't win any trophy this season. With Keita coming in, and another CB, hopefully, Alderweireld, a CDM (maybe Grujic) and we can win the Fa Cup and the league cup to the least.

Don´t forget about the new GK. Alisson would be a huge step forward for you guys. I don´t know why they are seriously considering taking Butland over Allison. Butland is good, but Alisson is a monster and without a doubt the best available GK you can get. Money can´t possibly be the problem.

Klopp made a point about calling Butland awful a few weeks ago in a presser for no reason lol. We're not signing him but we're not signing Alisson either.

Another one of those 'head-scratching' games where we look as good as any squad out there.

I look forward to screaming that Klopp needs to be shipped out after we lose to Everton on Sat.
