their entire team is on the downfall (silva and aguero aside)and they signed the "most overrated human being on planet earth"-Baphomet. They hardly finished above us last year too

This is the classic pre-season hype in overrating Arsenal, it's as predictable as the scousers at this point. It happens every year. A few sobering results against Stoke and newly promoted teams will readjust it. You'll hammer Wet Spam 5-0 first game of the season or something, titles hopes grow, then drop points against Palace and the AFTV lads will be bickering amongst themselves again.

I don't deny that Arsenal are in good position to leapfrog City, I said as much myself in the PL thread, but until it happens it's impossible to say. If Aguero stays healthy this season there is only an infinitesimally small chance Arsenal finish above them. Sure, they have an aging core, but with that comes experience that's already won Premier League titles. And Sterling is painfully overrated but he's not a net detriment just yet. ;)

again I said I think we can be better than city and I said currently we aren't better than chelsea to Truth. That was basically the situation last year not even claiming we're going to win the title or overrating. I didn't say we're clear cut better. The season's almost here anyways and the league table will shut us all up at the end of the day one way or another.

Yeah, sorry. I guess I filled out what you said with what I wanted to read. That kneejerk inner NL rivalry is heating up. 8-)

After last season's kinda boring finish I think we're all raring for the PL to be back to its exciting best. Proper rivalries and stuff. I think Spurs are a few high quality signings away from being even able to challenge for top 4 though, so I think 5th is probably our ceiling.

Reus to the PL doesn't seem too likely to me. If a quality BL player is going to come to the PL, it's more likely to be De Bruyne to City, I think.

ahahah you wanted my head on a spike and its not even august yet sheesh LOL. Someone's raring for the season to get going. We're in for an exciting finish this year I hope. Been alternating between boring season and crazy finish for a couple of years now.

that new stadium money is going to help you guys. Where you guys have fallen behind is your commercial deals. Are they up soon? Everyone at the top of the table's commercial deals/ revenue is going up and tottenham's has stagnated.

Yeah if Citeh have really bid 70m euros for KdB, then I can't imagine it'll be long until they hit the figure that VFL just can not not sell for. And with their movements around Draxler it seems like they are trying to line up a replacement already in anticipation of such a bid.

...though they still have oh so much to do if they have any ambition to hold onto a CL spot or make a mark in europe. Completing the Rudiger signing being the first priority, so that they have their young CBs sorted; but even then they still could really use a Benaglio-upgrade, a Naldo-upgrade/Klose-replacement, and a Perisic-replacement/upgrade. Doubtful they get even one of those three, but if they want to do well now that they're in the CL and hold onto their spot in the league, that's what they need to do if KdB is getting sold. Buy Draxler; Rudiger; Dragovic/Garay/Mussachio/Otamendi?; Karius/Horn; Lacazette/Griezmann/Volland/Martial; otherwise they're going to get smacked around in europe and have a very tough time holding onto a CL spot in the league.

And that assumes they won't have to also figure out what to do if KdB leaving makes RR change his mind on Real. Digne could leave PSG and would be as good a replacement as they'll find (assuming there's no hijacking Baba-to-Chelsea), but even if they pulled that off, and digne worked out that would be another thing they still have to do before the season starts. They're lucky they got into the auto-qualifier spots, because this team would have all of the makings for a club to get upset in the qualifying round...unfortunately Bayer, who will be in the qualifying playoff, seem to be well prepared. :/

I actually think Arsenal will finish ahead of City. Aguero was a one man team at times and arguably their 3rd best player for much of the season, behind Aguero and Hart, was Milner who they gave away.

I think Chelsea clearly takes it this year, but the race for 2nd will be interesting between Arsenal, Utd, and City.

So apparently after getting shot down on Leroy Sane, Tottenham have turned back to Timo Werner. Really hope nothing comes of that.

Whenever Daniel Levy is involved for a legitimately talented player, you can count on nothing coming of the negotiations. Huzzah!

Why is futbol so irresponsible with transfer movements? Imagine you heard every other day "Lakers cleared to sign Westbrook" "Lakers set to sign Westbrook" and nothing happens.

telles is another one of gala players that "nobody wants". he needs more development defensively but has great motor, should be a good rotation player.

Galatasaray is close to the signing of José Rodríguez, former Castilla player.

Atlético de Madrid is on the verge of signing colombian forward Rafael Santos Borré with help from Jorge Mendes. Might J-Mezzy shed some light about this player?

I'd like to bank on this, but you've been linked to Timo before; so I'm nervous

Santos Borre is Colombia's most promising youth player, the only one worth getting excited about tbh. It hasn't been a good crop for Colombia, but this kid is talented.

He is a striker, 20 years old and very technical. Not your usual #9 in the area, but more of a Benzema kind of forward. I think he has a good future ahead of him.

Glad he is moving to la liga. He fits well there and Serie A, not so much Buli or EPL

Apparently Helmuth Wenin, the player's agent in Colombia, knows nothing about the deal.

We will have to wait to see the outcome of this deal.

Are Chelsea really a lock for the title?

They were dead after 4 months last season. The early exits to PSG and Bradford probably saved them in the end. Mourinho's lack of rotation almost cost them. I think they will do much better in the cups next season and that could affect them late in the league as it did in 2013-14 when they basically bottled the league against Sunderland and Norwich in the last games.
Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Toni Kroos, Pep Guardiola, Ernst Happel, Joachim Löw.
