Indeed. And Totenham lost today. So we're now officially 3rd. Tot has a game under us, but we'd still have em on GD.
Just need to finish out strong. Got a game against Chelsea coming up. Would like it to be academic...so we can rest our guys for CL semi's and (hopefully) final.

On a positive.....we could go on a nice little streak here, and perhaps bump out Manure for the #2 spot. Not worth alot...but it's something.

There is a monetary difference and matching the teams' best finish in the prem would be a nice boost. I suspect the team will focus on CL though. Hopefully the team doesn't drop points to a bad team while resting players.

Re: Official Liverpool FC Thread
Having a hard time figuring out our transfer targets this summer. So far only Jorginho and Alisson have been mentioned and Alisson's interest has cooled. We're at a point where maybe only two players have the potential to get into our XI but with Ox flying he looks like a certain lock next year.
I somehow want to end up with Havetz and de Light this summer. Get two potential world class players at CM and CB that can be bled in and contribute immediately. I'd also promote Danny Ward, Ben Woodburn, Rhian Brewster and bring back Harry Wilson.

A lot of Liverpool's buys have only gotten public shortly before it went through. The one where it didn't turned into a fiasco with van Dijk.
I suspect that virtually everything out there is bull being put forth by agents trying to create leverage.
What positions does Liverpool need to fill?
1. Oddly enough, winger. Liverpool has been very lucky with the health of Mane and Salah. When one of them doesn't play, it hurts the team noticeably.
2. Midfield. Assuming Can is gone and Keita coming, I still see some opportunities for improvement. Lallana and Henderson are injury bugs. Milner is getting up there. Wijnaldum is a squad rotation player. Ox has been a pleasant surprise but doesn't have the on ball presence that elite teams look for.
3. Center back. I agree about de Ligt. Regardless, the improvement that VVD has brought is stunning. However, I don't want to count on his health.
It will be a fun summer. I expect Klopp to swing for the fences but stay young. Pulisic, de Ligt, Leon Bailly, etc.

Ruben Neves rumors. I don't think we want to work with Mendes though but what a dream that would be.

Re: Official Liverpool FC Thread
4 games left. 3 should be incredibly winnable. Chelsea will be tough, as they are clawing for a CL spot.
Annoyed the next 2 "easy games" are sandwiched in with Roma. Very few days rest. We really, really gotta take care of business with West-Brom this weekend. Play the squad....and play to WIN. Get those vital 3-points. Don't get cute.

It is a miracle when you don't.

0-2 up against relegated WBA and manage a draw. See what I mean about inconsistency yet?

Re: Official Liverpool FC Thread
Happy for Salah. You need at least 1 more....but you've tied the record, which is cool.
But back to team realities......yeah, this sh** just has to stop. 11 draws this year, and counting. We're prob gonna see Spurs draw even with us, and Chelsea get back to within 5. And we have a game against them at Samford Bridge.
I don't know if Klopp brings an arrogant attitude the days leading up to the "west broms" or if certain players have fostered this, but it's beyond "one of those seasons" for us. This is what we are. We play down to the lesser teams, and often draw/lose.
I like Klopp, and I wanted this to work, and I'd love for him to prove me wrong next year.....but I don't think this guy has, (brings) (imparts) the approach to win the EPL. <-------------- and for that reason, I'm out.

I didn't watch because it was a 4:30am start here. But, our defence has been better as of late. Playing Moreno & Klaven at the back would explain why we would concede two goals. Klopp apparently mailed this one in.

The pitch was a decent pitch and both teams played on the same one. Klopp is a bad loser.

Not the only one. I tell ya, I think Klopp has done at least two dozen things very right since coming here. His signings have been spot on...one after another. But the way we play 'lesser teams' just completely negates any inroads made elsewhere. It's so frustrating.
