in the USA, considering the fact soccer isnt a top 4 sport, I think ESPN has done a great job of bringing the game, the highlight show, etc

i also like they have commentators on from different nations like klinsman, etc

i think the only thing missing is that spanish dude who yells 'goallll' for 5 minutes after one is scored

I'm fine with it. However, I don't like how right after some games they just go straight to sportscenter. I really don't give a **** what happened in baseball yesterday.

They do that after different sports too though. But I agree.

Btw, Klinsmann sucks lol. He's so shallow and he gets paid an awful lot of money to spill cliches. :)

Well ya but this is the world cup. I hear about the NBA Finals 24/7, it doesn't matter that they flash to sportscenter right after the match. They need just a fat block of WC coverage time.

Either way, I just go to their website and watch videos from there.

Yeah agreed, but still, also after a Finals game it's stupid imo.

I'm from Holland, over here it's postgame galore.

One talkshow that normally airs twice a week is now twice a day, and then there are two more one hour shows on public tv. And I can watch BBC, German TV and Belgian postgame coverage who all have no or very little commercials.

Watched ESPN today for the first time because two matches at the same time (online). Skipped to the US game on TV after the first 25 minutes or so though. Listen to their podcasts regularly though.

I don't like their lack of postgame because we've really only heard about the US group and tidbits about other groups, usually just the standings.

IMO, ESPN has been real bad w/ their timing of the off-sides markers...they always pause the play at the point where everything looks in compliance w/ the refs call - even if the touch really took place after the pause.

...if they are doing this consciously, this is a great idea. In a system where explanations are rare and complaining makes little sense, the 'misplaced' pause keeps us thinking the refs are right - which makes us American fans happy!!!

^ I don't think ESPN makes their own replays. Just part of the live feed.

Lalas is awesome! :D

Tommy Smyth announces the games on ESPN Radio.

Other than a butt hurt John Harkes bitching and whining, I love the coverage. No one is afraid to attack FIFA and the shaky reffing.

You don't like Harkes? He's alright but Alexei is awesome. I used to hate him because he was super out spoken, but then I realized something...he was usually right about everything. He really gets the game of football and even though the way he delivers his thoughts is colorful and unedited he still has great things to say.
