Ha, well I don't think too much of the basketball, but I believe being the WC/EC soccer champ has only happened thrice in history - pretty huge accomplishment.

And same with tennis and Nadal. Probably the best moment in Spain's history for spots .

Right, and the problem is that the US is by far the dominant country in basketball, so anything it doesn't care about loses a ton of prestige, rightly or wrongly. It would also help matters if the star of the Spanish basketball team was the star on the NBA team where he devotes the lion share of his basketball effort.

Enough with being a downer though, it's certainly a great time Spain right now.

I wonder if Spain can get the 2012 Euro as well....that treble of Euro-WC-Euro hasn't been done before am i right?
