How did Fink and Ernst do last season? Haven't heard much of them since they went to Turkey.
I don't understand why Hilbert went to Besiktas. He has no chance at all now to play for the German national squad again(well, he probably wouldn't have it if he stayed here either lol). Joachim Löw just won't nominate him again.

Ernst is a fan favorite, some fans might jump in front of a bullet for him.
Fink was useful, scored a great screamer against Fenerbahçe but the media wants him out. Considering our centre midfield depth, I want him to stay but there is no guarantee.

Ernst is a little bit slow and can't create very well but he's a solid player defensively from what I remember.

Beşiktaş fans love players who give %110 effort every game. Ernst did that.
He was also tough, smart, a good defender and teammate. There is no reason not to love him.

Speaking of German guys, how is Baris Özbek doing?
(And don't dare to poach him, he is ours!)

You can take him. He's one of the most dirty ****ers I've seen in a long time. He can be useful, but even Galatasaray fans dislike him after he intentionally kicked an opposing player. His offense is beyond crap, and he's average on defense. The thing that seperates him from others is his ambition and giving %110 effort. He puts pressure on the opposition and that's a good thing for a midfielder. He's not Galatasaray material though.

The "3 bigs" sucked big time. The opponents are terrible teams with no budget whatsoever. Most of the media is still chilling and not panicking, but you have to beat opponents like that - no matter what. It's about the Champions and Euro League which means money. All the opponents did, was compete. For them it's like playing vs Manu or Barcelona - the match of their lives. If Schuster really plans on building a starting lineup with 5 offensive guys who don't help on defense at all, Besiktas will have a tough time in the upcoming season. Don't tell me it's preseason and the teams are not ready yet. No matter what you have to compete. Even the reserve teams of the big 3 should be able to beat opponents like that. There's a big chasm talentwise.

You're underrating Young Boys. Beşiktaş need to tighten up their defense and realize it's a big mistake to let Fink go. I really like Delgado, but he's obsolete when you have Guti in your squad. Tabata should go as well, but he was paid big money last year, so unfortunately he'll stay. I hope they won't sell Ferrari, he's a top 3 defender in the TSL.
As for Galatasaray, if they played every game in the league with that XI they'd finish the league 6-10th. That's an awful squad for them, Rijkaard must know it. The Sarp-Ayhan-Barış trio is deadly for the fans.

Fenerbahce was absolutely pathetic. They had over two months to find a new forward, but instead acquire Stoch and Dia. Plus they decide to waive Guiza and let Semih sit on the bench. So many wrong decisions ...

They aren't waiving Guiza. He's gone if they recieve a half decent offer for him though.
Belgrad 1-5 Galatasaray

Beşiktaş 3-0 Plzen
Quaresma with the trivela, and Holosko scores a lovely placed shot from way out.

How good is Gala this year? Is Elano healthy enough to play in the EL this round? Can they get upset? They did lose to a team from Norway a few years back.

The season havent started yet and I'm already more depressed than Cleveland fans. I hope Niang, whom we apparently signed, is damn good otherwise we are doomed.
Also it is time to send Deivid away and to cut Alex loose. He really doesn't fit Aykut's system and he was never a good performer at European stage anyhow. Better to let him go (or just to bring off the bench for the last 15 minutes of a game when the team needs a goal) and go forward with 2 strikers.

Ah, the Tromsö disaster

. The management is trying to get rid of Elano, so his status is unknown. Galatasaray's squad isn't that good, they have huge issues on defense. The team is clearly not ready yet, but I don't think the opponent will have an upset.
