It was obvious after the gold cup that we need a new coach

while I did not see the game, I am in shock over the results... no disrespect to Guatemala but this is not acceptable.

How did the US attack? what there they fudging up with? roster?

He was terrible when he came in to "fix" Toronto FC too.

They played pretty poorly. Controlled possession but didn't do much with it.
I don't even know what the answer to these problems are. I used to have plenty of ideas as to what Klinnsman should be doing/who he should be calling up instead of his guys, but now I feel like he's ran us so far into the ground I just don't even know how this could be solved.
With that said, huge game tomorrow and a win will be very helpful. We are home and its just Guatemala............

Thank you...

I was one to give Juri some time back early on, to let his system and personnel fall in place. However, right now, its not looking good.

One could argue that even the US talent pool isn't as opportunistic (in terms of few individuals able to perform at a high level consistently) as the early & mid 2000s. But with that said, JK, you got to do better....

WC performance aside, I feel we regressed and stayed complacent.... no signs of life/progress

Anyone can say what they want about the players available for selection but the US should be able to beat t&t and Guatemala. We haven't played them at home yet. The worst thing is that if we beat them both at home we qualify and are stuck with him longer.

Although the selection was awful, any XI should have beaten Guatemala. These players suck.

I hope Nagbe starts this one.

well maybe we can all celebrate together tonight, but i'm not getting my hopes up.

I'd like to see these guys in the starting XI:
Howard, Bradley, Lee Nguyen, Dempsey, Zardes, and the ghost of Landon Donovan. The rest of the spots are up for grabs. Timmy better be on his grind because our defenders are all trash

By merely putting them in proper positions, they'd have carved out a 0-0 draw or 1-0 win. Both goals required Mix Diskerud f ups when he was playing d-mid. He's an a-mid. The mindset and responsibilities are completely different.

Then he could have put Cameron at CDM instead, Yedlin at RB, Bedoya at tucked in rm or raw instead of lw, etc. Could have avoided the combo of errors on d that led to goals and provided significant more width for the attack so it didn't almost all come up the middle. The wings were where attacks went to die.

Orozco and Castillo were player selection mistakes which should have been easily avoided. Could have called in Villafana, Ream, or Lichaj to handle LB. At CB, I don't know if Brooks and Besler getting injured on his watch were the fault of his intensive practices or not. I wasn't there, but he does have that rep. But even if it wasn't his fault, Ream could have covered CB too, as well as Hedges, Farrell, Marshall, etc. It's amazing how often he has problems at CB. The pool is deeper than it's ever been, with viable options, and he still calls up two reservists in Mexico for God's sake in Alvarado and Orozco. The guy is married to his former decisions and the little agendas he has, and that's predictably catching up with us big time, as is his incompetence as a tactician.

didn't see the game, had bigger fish(conmebol) to fry hehe....

but despite the win, it only masks the glaring weaknesses and holes we have in roster and coaches.... hope we can solve it soon.

We are in the middle of youth movement, as our aging veterans are starting to show signs of their age. By the time the world cup rolls around in 2 years, we should have some good youngsters to replace the veterans in the starting line up. I didnt realize how much so till I read this article: http://www.yardbarker.com/soccer/articles/christian_pulisic_and_co_can_take_united_states_soccer_higher_than_ever_before/s1_13130_20709724

Right now, we have:
Pulisic, 17 yo midfielder, who plays for Dortmund as a starter!
Jordan Morris, 21 yo striker with Seattle.
Bobby Wood, 23 yo striker/midfielder.
Aaron Johansson, 25 yo striker.
Julian Green, 20 yo midfielder/wing.
Emerson Hyndman, 20 yo midfielder at Fulham.
Gedion Zelalem, 19 yo midfielder at Arsenal.
Matt Miazga, 20 yo defender at Chelsea.
