Messi, Xavi or Iniesta.

I think Xavi should be the winner, but maybe because of his goal in the Final Iniesta could win it.

Messi wins!!

I was watching it live and I was so excited and surprised to hear his name. Time to make it 3 in a row now :D

I really thought Xavi would win it.

LOL! Messi? Sure, he's the best of the 3, but he didn't deserve it, not this year.

You can't say he "didn't deserve" it, but you can say that you thought Xavi deserved it more.

Messi had an amazing season.

i think the other two deserved it more, but I'd still have prefered Sneijder..... at least to be one of the 3 :dontknow:

I think Sneijder should have been there instead of Iniesta.

Iniesta actually came in second with like 17%, Xavi had 16%.

Barca only won the La Liga and a Spanish cup last season didn't they. I thought the competition might have been between Xavi and Iniesta but considering Messi had a phenomenal season I didn't expect him to be the run away winner like this.

He had like 22-23% of the votes.

So they chose 3 finalists and the total voting was Xavi - 17% Iniesta - 16% and Messi 22% ? That doesn't add up unless they also voted for other candidates.

Ya I was all excited thinking Messi got 65% but then i saw this http://www.fifa.com/ballondor/media/new ... index.html

Messi had an outstanding 2010, winning the Spanish league with his club Barcelona. Messi obtained 22.65% of the votes, ahead of his club team-mates Andrés Iniesta (17.36%) and Xavi (16.48%).

Messi was clearly the best player in the world last year, but if the purpose was to recognize the player's accomplishments the past year, Xavi, Iniesta or Sneijder should have won. If this was only about determining who the best players are, Rooney deserved the XI spot over Villa

Oh wow, sweet.
Interesting to see Mark Van Bommel's votes for 1st and 2nd place were "invalid".

You can see some obvious bias sometimes like Vermaelen voting for Fabregas or Benayoun voting for Drogba.

LOL! Mexico's captain and coach voted for Xabi Alonso. I'm pretty sure that they were confused and wanted to vote for Xavi.

LOL @ Casillas voting for Former teammates and Ronaldo. Attaboy..

All these representatives from obscure countries voting for Messi really shows how much of a popularity all of this really is. I also think xavi got snubbed.
New Sig, what do you think?

I also believe that Sneijder deserved this award, last year was his year.

If anyone should have taken it from Barcelona, it shouldn't have been Messi. While I believe he was the best in the world, the other two won a World Cup.

And 1

Iniesta was hurt half the year, so it should have been between Xavi and Sneijder

he owed it to Robben after embarrassing him twice in the wc finals

There seems to be no defenders anywhere other than the occasional Puyol and Maicon
