Canada wins game one against Guadeloupe 2-1

The boys looked too relaxed in the first half being down by 1 but after half time they came back and attacked well.

Lots of work still needs to be done but the program here in Canada is looking promising.

Mexico is playing Cuba now if anyone is interested.

I think I can catch most of the USA, Mexico and (insert another random team here) this time of the year. I remember the last CONCACAF U20 tourney (2009?), I didn't watch as much I wanted to.

But to be honest, I'm more interested in Copa America, which will occur this summer.

Cuba wasn't THAT bad of a team despite the result. I thought Mexico and Cuba came out sloppy in the first half. Both were making bad decisions with the ball i.e. throwing passes directly at the defense etc etc. But at the same time, I never felt Cuba would take the game and control it. Despite Mexico's sloppiness, they were the more talented team and controlled most of the possessions in the second half. Mexico was aggressive and assertive in every scoring opportunity. Cuba didn't really have any shot to win this game tbh.

Although Mexico won today, they really need to tighten up their play. If not, there are teams that can take advantage of their mistakes.

A player from Suriname came in as a substitute and in a matter of seconds, he got a red card! Probably the quickest red card I seen ever lol. Although, I think the US player sell the call very well. He didn't look in pain at first but when the referee was in his view, the US player was rolling on the floor and agonizing the foul.

And there was another foul called (which was way worse than the last one), and he only got a yellow card. (Although, the Suriname player who fouled, was literally begging the referee to not pull the red. The referee gave him the pity yellow card instead).
