What's the difference between Osama Bin Laden and Barcelona football players?

I love this game. Best team in England against the best team in Spain in the home of the sport. Great managers & great players. Premier league (considered by many to be the best in the world) and Barca (considered by many to be the best team in the world). I think this is a perfect final . . . unless you're a Madrid fan.

Nice.

Looking forward to this final. I expect it to be more of a contest than the 09 final, in which Barca were superb and United never really got going at all. I'm rooting for United all the way, and though I was never much of a fan of Barcelona prior to this Champions League campaign, the Madrid/Barca semifinal was a shameful display from both teams and made me feel contemptuous of the spanish football elite in general.

I can see United starting with a lineup of:

---------------VDS---------------
Rafael-Ferdinand-Vidic-Evra
----Carrick-Scholes-Giggs----
Valencia-------------------Nani
-------------Rooney-------------

Look for the three midfielders to be quite disciplined and hold their position a little more, while they look attack aggressively down the flanks. I can definitely see them looking to drop longer passes in behind Alves and (assuming he proves his fitness) Abidal to try and exploit the fact that Barcelona's like to get forward and thus leave a fair bit of space.

I really can't see Nani starting, especially down the left where Dani Alves will run around him and Evra. IMO Fergie will be going defensive on that side of the field.

Yeah, not only would he be a defensive liability, but Nani has been out of favor and in poor form as of late, Park should start over him

I hope Pedro and Villa break out of this run of poor form they're on. I'd almost rather start Affelay at this point.

Afellay is really effective off the bench though, I think Pep would do well to bring him on for one of Pedro/Villa after 75 or so minutes.

UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against FC Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets, who is alleged to have violated Article 11 bis of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations by directing racist abuse towards a Real Madrid CF player in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg between the clubs on 27 April.

The proceedings have been launched on the basis of evidence provided by Real Madrid (video and statement of club and player). The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body will deal with the case on Sunday 15 May and the decision will be communicated to the club on Monday 16 May.

Give Sergio a break, UEFA. He's clearly struggling with post concussion syndrome after his numerous grusome injuries that left him rolling on the ground, holding his face.

I thought I remembered reading that Marcelo initially said Busquets didn't say mono. But if Busquets really did, and if Barca really is about 'more than a club' and trying to be the apex of football, Barca needs to do more than just not appealing the five game ban. If that's what they make and believe themselves to be, they should be only a mere hair of outrage behind Marcelo.
