South American Football Confederation 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualification
The format is identical to the previous four World Cup qualification tournaments held by CONMEBOL, with all competing nations playing each other home and away in a single group.[1]
In qualification for recent World Cup finals tournaments, the CONMEBOL nations have had four direct qualifiers, with a fifth nation competing in a play-off with a team from another confederation. The same number of spots have been retained for the 2014 tournament, despite Brazil's automatic qualification as the host nation.
The fifth-placed team of CONMEBOL will compete in the inter-confederation play-offs with a team from another confederation, which will be either AFC's fifth-placed team, CONCACAF's fourth-placed team or OFC's first-placed team, to be chosen through a random draw.

I know it seems MEGA early for these threads but both the AFC and CONCACAF qualification tournaments start next month. It's crazy to even be thinking about 2014, but the journey for some teams begins very soon.
Also if someone would like to make a UEFA thread when to time is right that would be great. I'll do my best to update both these threads as I have split up the confederations in a pretty fair way I think. UEFA is just too much for me to update.
I'll bump these threads just before game one.
