Typical. Ah well, maybe Drogba will be sold, we'll still miss Essien though, and dare I say it, the spark from Kalou.

The African contingent is rather insignificant at Chelsea now. Drogba would be the only big loss and if Torres recovers, it shouldn't matter at all since Hiddink will surely sign another striker before the window closes whether that be Neymar or Aguero. May be even try again for Pato.

With Essien and Mikel gone, we'd only have Ramires, 33 y/o Lamps and 18 y/o McEachran if we don't buy anyone. I guess we can play Luiz, Benayoun and Malouda in the midfield if we really have to, but it's just not gonna be good enough against United if the midfield depth stays as is. Hell I expect Ramires and Luiz to be banned for that game, Lamps and Benayoun to be injured and McEachran to be loaned out by then lol

Nah, knowing their recent history, they'll win 2, draw against Man U, and build up hope for the season. Only to play horribly in February-April and kill all hope that they built up earlier in the season.

Rumors are rumors, but Barton to Arsenal would be something

At least fans like us won't have to complain about Barton's awful tackles anymore...

Wenger would be brain dead to accept that.

No way we go for Barton, dude's a complete ass. Less of a chance than us signing Ryan Shawcross.

More likely because Barton would mind fk half the young players at Arsenal after every loss. There's few managers and players that can control him and Arsenal is not his kind of scene.

Will be a really good player though if someone like Tottenham or Liverpool can grab him and someone like Harry/Dalglish can keep him in check.

Portugese news announces Villas-Boas to be the new Chelsea manager.

Never thought we had a chance at him hence why I was rooting for Hiddink, but I'm excited nonetheless.

Hiddink's still probably getting the Director position after his contract with Turkey expires. Really excited about Villas-Boas though. 13M release clause for a manager too lol (hopefully a little lower). Just not sure about Falcao.

update: Chelsea's statement: "we hope to be able to make an announcement in the next few days or so, but until then we won't comment further" (from SSN)

Big move for someone who always wanted to step out of Mourinho's shadow. :D

The deal's hit a hitch, Chelsea haven't met the release clause in the contract.
