Look at the managers in there. Allardyce, Clough, Jewell, Sven Erikssonm Holloway and Mowbray. Solid stuff, I never took in much of championship football but it can;t be bad with that kind of structure.

So weird to see clubs that I saw in the Premier League at one point over the past decade fall off so hard. I remember seeing teams like Charlton, Sheffield Weds and Bradford City playing below the league championship. But teams like Leeds and Derby County back into the Championship after playing in the lower leagues. Seeing West Ham in the League Championship is still weird to me.

Didn't know Sven was coaching in the lower league. Man that guy fell off a cliff, remember when he was considered hot **** after leaving Lazio?

Since this thread was not very popular this season it will change from a yearly thread to simply a league thread.

Please continue to discuss the league here.
Thanks.

I'd like to see Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest, and Derby County go up. I'm fond of that part of the world.
Middlesbrough vs. Norwich - the 120 million

Today the biggest football game in the world is taking place. No seriously, it is, the winner stands to earn more from this game than the Champions League Winner could hope to get. The third club to gain promotion to the Premier League is decided through a simple play-off system and the final is today: Middlesbrough versus Norwich City at Wembley.
Secretly I have always admired Middlesbrough - a well run club in a football mad part of the world, a nice new stadium with passionate fans and a chairman who is not afraid to back his club but is equally sensible about the direction he takes it in. They have become more mercenary over the past years, in my opinion, relying heavily on foreign talent and with a Spanish manager in charge. But the manager is clever and knows how to make most out of the squad.
Facing them are the Canaries of Norwich City. After getting relegated recently they will be clamouring to get back to the holy land. Failure would cost them as each year it takes longer to return, parachute payments dry up. Norwich is another well run club, with an interesting board of directors and equally passionate fans.
Both clubs did well in the semi-finals, but for me Middlesbrough have the edge when it comes to form. Norwich should have gained direct promotion but had a serious slump and will be affected by that in their confidence. I think it will be 2-1 today and Middlesbrough will take the massive windfall. Norwich? Maybe next year?

Middlesbrough were a regular when i started following Premier League so would like to see them back again.
I remember them always beating Man United back in the day, so that's another positive.
