I just can't wait to buy it, don't think I'll be downloading the demo but will definitely get it on the release date. I saw some of the player ratings which were meh, but FIFA is the only game I play all throughout the year, still playing FIFA 11.

1.5 gb takes 20 mins in the States :)

Is demo out in the States as well? Also, when is the actual game coming out?

i think the game comes out on the 27th, i'll check out the demo today.

my biggest complaint with 11 is pretty minor. in the be a pro mode, they never give my guy a game off so i start every game with like 20% stamina, then he gets hurt and they don't take him out. I can see why you wouldn't want your player substituted all the time but it's hard to be effective when you're injured and don't have any stamina.

I live just a few meters outside the area where you can upgrade your internet connection to high speed. I guess it wouldn't take hours but it would take at least 1 hour for me to download this which is too long for me.

Edit: I tried it. Takes more than 2 hours. :-?

Yeah that really bugged me to...a lot. Can't wait to try that mode out when in comes out. Like i said, the biggest change in gameplay this year is the defense. It's a lot more complicated than just holding down A and B to get the ball back. I still havent gotten the hang of it, but i like what they did. Should make online play more interesting.

Parts of the new defending I like. It's not just hold a button and win the ball, which is good, but the emphasis on contain has led to some of my players standing in place while a pass crosses one foot in front of them. Their positioning on their mark stays, admittedly, above what last year's version did, but they now play even worse against passes.

And crosses into the box? No joke, 7 of the 9 against me have gone for goals. I play on World Class, but that's still bull.

Not being able to be slowed down when you're dribbling by someone four yards behind you is good, but to counter that it seems like they've made each player far slower with the ball then without, allowing the defense to still get in position.

The A.I. is punishing against even average tackle attempts. The new tactical contain system, at it's best, is better than last years, but the ignoring of passes is a real detriment and with tackles more often than not leaving your player looking silly, playing with 'high pressure' in this game is essentially going to be just jockeying 3 yards off the ball and hoping they make a poor pass.

What I've found best for defending is ample switching and using the teammate contain key not to double but to send a defender running at someone--the defense plays so deep that sometimes an opposing player can get the ball 30 yards out and the D just stands there.

The idea behind the change is better than last year. If executed properly, it would play a lot better than last year's. As it stands, there's a lot missing. And not allowing us to change tactics in the demo is giving me real pause about buying the game in the first place--if it's not possible to tackle more than ten yards outside the box, if it's not possible to not let Pato catch the ball 30 yards out without anyone closing down on him, this isn't going to be a purchase.

I've just played the demo, and I liked what I saw.

The range of shots seem to be extended compared to last year which is good.

The passing is better, and the success of the lob pass is decreased.

Barcelona is finally like Barcelona, in Fifa 11 they were a really good team but not "Barcelona". I wonder how they created Real Madrid.

The ratings of players seem to be better. Last year they had a cap of 90, and no player in the game(Unless created by the user) seemed to exceed it. This year Messi is 95, Tevez is 87(I think), Iniesta is 92, etc. The overall of the leading players on 4-4,5 star teams will probably be around 83-85 which is higher compared to last year.

As for tactical defending, I need to test it with a friend of mine instead of an AI because I only play with real people. But the dribbling system is better and people who were playing PES will get used to it real quick. In Fifa 11, I had to do a skill move in order to get past a player no matter what team we used(Barcelona vs Huddersfield for example). This time you can just dribble past the defender if they are slow enough.

F*ck my internet connection I just downloaded it. It took me 5 hours even though it said 2.5h when I started that download.

200 meters from my place you can have an up to 50MBit/s connection and I'm sitting here with a max. 4MBit/s connection (which is in reality probably a 1.5 MBit/s connection - and advertised as a 16MBit/s connection). My max download speed for that demo was like 150kBit/s.

Glad I had to go to work while I downloaded it otherwise I would've probably started thinking about throwing my laptop against a wall.

I'd have rather they spent the time they did on 'improving' the graphics on making the player jerseys behave like actual jerseys. Annoys me to no end watching a player's upper body twist and the numbers and lettering on his back expanding in size.

They should've cheated more on the crowds. Taken polygons from there and put them all on the players.

Still having trouble defending crosses.

I'm not really excited after playing this demo.

Won't buy it. It feels like the PES game I bought like 2 or 3 years ago was already better than this is.

How FIFA hasn't implemented a D-Pad "play" screen is beyond me. Select player, select run, boom, instead of just mashing LB and hoping they get it right.

Or hold LB, use the right stick to aim at a player, release lb, and the direction you flick the stick sends that player in a run in that direction.

Tactics need to be revised, too. Something resembling even half of what you can do with Football Manager would be much appreciated.

Im surprised how much that stuff happens in this demo. I had a defender and an opposing striker bumping into my keeper for like 10 seconds and niether of them could get up

There are some awesome impact engine collisions... and there are some glancing tackles that result in a player looking like they just got shot by 24 distinct submachine guns.

Commentators horrible as always.

They are telling me: "Tough to lose when it's one of your own players that puts in the decisive goal."
I won 2:1 while scoring an own goal. That own goal didn't even decide the game. :D

Even in Fifa Barca are refs darlings. They always get favourable calls when I play against them. :(
