The men's association football tournament at the 2011 Pan American Games will be held in Guadalajara, Mexico at the Omnilife Stadium from 19 October to 28 October. Associations affiliated with FIFA were invited to send their mens U-22 national teams.

Not sure what the interest level will be in this, but more football discussion is a good thing.

Brazil is going to play with a team of youngsters. FYI, Lucas Patinho is not even one of the 5 best players U-20 at Fluminense.

Trinidad men replace Guatemala in Pan Am fieldTrinidad & Tobago will replace Guatemala in the men's tournament at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Guatemala was withdrawn by the country's Olympic committee for non-compliance with protocol.
Panama and Honduras, who finished behind Guatemala and ahead of Trinidad in the final rankings of the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship in April, declined invitations to fill the vacancy in the eight-team competition, set for October 19-28.
Trinidad will be placed in Group A along with Ecuador, Mexico and Uruguay and begin play October 19 against Uruguay.

Just got home from the Mexico - Uruguay game.
Very pleased to see a sold out stadium of 36k people at a game where the two biggest clubs in Mexican soccer played at the same time.
Crowd was great, cheering on these lads to a 5-2 victory. I only watched the first 10 minutes of the Brasil - Costa Rica game to beat the traffic, which is awful in Guadalajara.

Very happy that Canada won the gold. Christine Sinclair scored in the 88th minute to tie the game and sent it into extra time.
Game went to penalty kicks after a full 90 + 30.
